We had another storm overnight and got 1 to 1-1/2 inches of heavy, wet snow on Saturday morning (1/22). In the 15 years we have lived here….we have NEVER had weather like this….our neighbor's yard still had a patch of snow from last Sunday’s storm when this one blew in. Obviously Michael’s golfing was cancelled, so he had time to make me breakfast before checking out our washing machine. When we did laundry yesterday, we discovered that it was still dripping after the cycle was done. Michael called a friend who came over and confirmed that the problem is inside the washer…and not with any of the connections from the wall….so I guess we’ll soon be having a visit from a washing machine repair person.
I got a sad call yesterday afternoon…the sister and brother-in-law that Earl was closest to, both passed away last year….Sandy in May and Billy in December. I really felt like I gained another sister when I married Earl….Sandy was also a quilter and crafter and we bonded right away. I am very glad that Sandy’s kids have kept in touch with me enough to let me know that this happened.
I finished making the binding:
so I now have 2 quilts to bind next week. After that I dropped back to my 4 patches and got them all done (112 in all):
along with the background fabric I will stitch them to:
I cannot wait to get this quilt finished....at that point I will have 3 men's tops and I already have backing fabric that I think will work with all 3 of them.....it will be nice to have some men's tops again!
By then it was dinnertime and we had a chicken Cesar salad with another loaf of artisan bread (Arizona Mary…have you made it yet?):
We ended up reading for a bit before settling in front of the TV.
Some of our daffodils popped up when Arizona Mary was here:
but I'm not sure they're going to survive the cold temps this week!
*** I just bought my husband a ‘’Get Better Soon’’ card. He’s not sick….I just think he could be better! ***
No bread yet
Hey! I resemble that remark!😪
