Maury & Marcia, Dave & Laura

Michael left early for golf on Saturday (9/2), and after my bike ride, I spent much of the day getting ready for our company. Freya was in the kitchen with me, and the title of this next picture is ''why did we buy her a bed''?:

But, eventually I guess she decided it was softer:

The kitchen table was an absolute disaster, so I got that cleaned off and set:

before starting to make chicken salad:

That took just over an hour, then I relaxed for a bit before starting on the broccoli slaw:

When Michael came home, he hit the store for ice and fruit salad:

and I got rosemary roll dough made:

showed up at 6 PM and we had a lovely dinner and I finally got to RIP the plastic off of our new game….we had a WONDERFUL time….Marcia said her cheeks hurt at the end of the evening from laughing so much! Ethel was superivising for much of the evening:

We paused half way through for the ice box cake, and the chocolate walnut pie that Marcia brought. Everyone left around 10 PM and after we cleaned up, we sat and read for a bit before bed.

Sunday (9/3) was a relaxing day….reading the paper, taking a nap, taking Freya on a golf cart ride….basting a quilt:

and watching VIENNA BLOOD in the evening while knitting.

I don’t want to jinx us, but Freya seems to be getting the hang of housebreaking……shhh-h-h-h-h!
