I made myself a smurfy egg/cheese/bacon/rye bread half sandwich for breakfast on Wednesday (7/20), then settled in for a long SKYPE session with Janice. She’s so encouraging about my knee whenever we talk…Inez…we also talked about you as I indicated you’d probably be dancing by next week!!!
Anyway, after that I headed downstairs (I’m leaving the cane downstairs, and the walker upstairs so that I can go up and down and get around when Michael is not home. Today he’s playing with Doug (Paula’s hubby) in the Red/White & Blue golf tournament all day. I got my blog out and then started pressing my Blues rows…:it definitely takes way more time to press all of the seams open instead of in one direction, but I like how my seams nest better and it almost guarantees that I would spot a seam that didn’t quite get caught (In early customer quilts I found an opening like that on 3 different quilts….thank goodness I spotted it before my longarm foot scooted under it and ripped the quilt!) Lucy was sleeping on the pile-o-quilts while I was working:
I got all of my rows pressed and started to sew them together:
when Connie showed up for a visit…and to bring me a peach milkshake from Chick-fil-a….yum!!!! I have to say, during this whole knee thing, our friends and neighbors have kept us supplied with most of our dinners (and some lunches as well!!!)…it has been wonderful! Connie and I had a nice long chat before she headed for home, and I went back to sewing.
While Michael was upstairs cooking my dinner….an incredible tasting gilled ham & cheese with a big slice of garden tomato:
I might have gotten a handle on who/what keeps knocking our bird feeders down….
We spent the evening watching 2 GREAT BRITISH BAKING SHOWS.

Who knew raccoons liked bird food?
Do you just use the railing to get downstairs and up, or do you have a second cane to do the stairs
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG!! Not sure they make RACCOON proof bird feeders!!!😮
