A-n-n-n-nd, she's back!

I spent a lot of the morning Saturday (5/13) reading a new book. I had an upsetting encounter at quilting on Thursday, and just decided I deserved a break, so while Michael was out golfing (he had a 7:30 AM tee time!!!), I sat with my cup of tea and read, so I wouldn’t think about things….why do people have to be so unpleasant?

I made it downstairs around NOON and spent an hour on the phone working to upgrade my blog so that I could use it and up load pictures again….I think everything is working….we’ll see when I try to post this blog on Sunday. My honey came home around 1 PM and I asked how golf was….his answer ‘’it was fabulous for Phil!!! He had 3 birdies and shot an 86!!!’’ Oh well, you can’t win them all…my honey said he struggled and shot a 91.

One of the things you missed while the blog was AWOL is that Mary Jo came for a visit this week (Sunday to Thursday). We got 2 of her quilts quilted (yay and hooray, hopefully pictures in a few days....I just kind of fell out of the habit of taking pictures while the blog was down!) Mary Jo started to layout my 4 patches while she was here. She went through several iterations, and I have to make a few more blocks, but I LOVE what she did:

In order for her to have room to layout, I went back to sewing my OBW blocks into rows, and I hope to have them all in rows sometime this week (this is all I have left to do):

Then I can start sewing the rows together. I still haven’t settled on what will go in the middle blank space on the quilt top, since my original thought isn’t going to work anymore.

I did intake on a customer quilt in the afternoon, and when she texted me, she said ‘’may we come by now or will it interfere with your dinner prep’’. When she arrived, I said ‘’my dinner prep is going to consist of calling in an order to the local Chinese place!’’ and she laughed. So, Michael and I had Chinese for dinner and relaxed in front of the TV for the evening.

And I am so, so happy that I finally have a chance to showcase the latest scrap quilt from Janice…it is beautiful and I cannot believe what she creates out of other people’s discards:

I took me a while to get to the end of the comments😃. I haven't received any notification of your blog. Sent you a note. Also I like Mary Jo's first rendition to the 4 patches with the squigglly little ones. Can't wait to see what you put in your OBW middle. Cubes?

I have read your blog for years but never commented, but am so glad you have it working again. now don’t let those people that want to be ugly keep you from posting those beautiful quilts and great handiwork that so many of your friends do. It is an inspiration to so many of us and makes me want to keep trying new patterns, I just have to be strong and say NO to some of them!!!!!
