Michael left super early for golf on Wednesday (4/6)…it’s supposed to be a really warm day…but the sun was very slow in making an appearance :~). I SKYPE’d with Janice….read my library book for a bit….did intake on a quilt from Paula and finally made it downstairs after 1 PM. Check out these pictures:
What does this mean? It means that Lucy tried to walk across or lay on my quilt…and bent the pins….of course I’ll have to fix before I start quilting. I am not looking forward to quilting this….I am used to fleece and do a pretty good job with it…but this is ‘’fleece luxe’’ and it is SO STRETCHY in EVERY direction….it’s going to be yucky quilting it! So, of course I procrastinated and instead sewed on my chandelier quilt all afternoon….I had the bottom half of it sewn together by the time I quit for the evening:

Thursday (4/7) was the start of a 2 day retreat at Scrap Happy...there were 23 of us:
and we got all set up and started sewing at 9:30 AM. We stopped for our regular pot luck:
and sewed until 5 PM when we headed home. June came to stay over as she lives kind of far away, and we relaxed on the lanair for a bit when we first got home, along with some company:
June was so sweet to iron my chandelier rows as I sewed them Thursday night, but it was even better that we got to talk the evening away!

I had an 8 AM appointment with a gastro doctor on Friday (4/8), to try to identify the source of my anemia. I now have an appointment for the end of May for a colonoscopy, endoscopy and camera investigation of whatever part of my digestion they don't see with the first 2 procedures :~(.
After that I gratefully headed to Scrap Happy where there was more sewing....more food....and more door prizes:
We had lots of show and tell by the end of the 2 days:
It was a spectacular retreat and when I got home, I took a TWO HOUR NAP!!!
This is the Master's Weekend....so I leave my honey alone to immerse himself in that...that gave me the opportunity to get the second half of my chandelier quilt all sewn together Friday night...and pieced to the first half...I love it:
And I am very happy that it is large enough that I do not have to add any borders.
*** At my age ‘’getting lucky’’ means walking into a room and remembering what I came in for. ***
Do you have to 'pay' anything for this retreat ? Who organizes it ?
Looks like lots of fun ! Thanks for all the photos !
