Basking in the sun

It was another slow start on Tuesday (11/2), and we’re at that time of year where the sun is lower in the sky, so it creates a large space that Cookie loves to bask in:

Eventually I headed downstairs and my honey made me a smurfy breakfast sandwich:

before heading out on errands (chiro, liquor, CVS, Food Lion).

Time to tackle the tons of bobbin ends and get them sewn in on the rainbow bargello quilt. So…good news/bad news here….I got all of the ends woven in (YAY!!), but I also tried to stitch out a label for the quilt. Now, a couple of weeks ago, a friend came over and asked to stitch out a label for her quilt…..I could not initially get my presser foot to stay down, but eventually it did, and we got the label stitched out. This time, however, the presser foot would not stay down no matter what I did…that means it’s time for a visit to Norm (the Viking repair guy), but my machine is REALLY, REALLY old and I am afraid he is going to tell me my mother board is going and I’m sure there are no parts available to fix it :~(.

I took a break and got dog food and yoghurt in the crockpots:

and finished reading my library book…it was EXCELLENT….WHEN THE STARS GO DARK by Paula McLain (Pat W – it’s right up your alley and available at the library…I’ll be returning it on Thursday).

After that I thought I’d give Norm a call….as much as I love the guy, when you take a machine to him to get it repaired, he usually has it for 6 weeks, and I didn’t want to wait 6 weeks to find out he couldn’t fix it and I needed a new machine. Well….he has some old Designer Ones (my machine) that he keeps for parts, and he thinks he can fix it….so I’ll be dropping it off tomorrow, after I SKYPE with Janice.

I ended up watching 2 Steve Carell movies today…CRAZY, STUPID LOVE and DAN IN REAL LIFE. Both on Amazon Prime I’m pretty sure…if you’ve never seen…definitely worth a look. I got my rainbow bargello all cleaned up, off of the frame and trimmed….so it’s now on the to-be-bound pile. I made the French bread pizzas for dinner:

then Michael took off for rehearsal while I continued to putz in the studio :~).
