Our big fry-up happened Monday morning (2/7)…a perfect time for it as it was a gray and drizzly day! Michael (as always) does the bulk of the work with frying the bacon:
and making AWESOME potatoes:
while I get to do other things until the last minute when I swoop in and make the pancakes:
We talked for quite awhile over breakfast before Michael left for errands (ALDI’s, Harris Teeter and CVS) and I got sucked into a new book on my KINDLE. I did do intake on a customer quilt (a woman who drove down from Asheville to bring me this quilt…a friend of Sandy D’s). The bad news is, by the time Michael came home, he felt like he had a scratchy throat…so I made up a concoction for him to drink and he settled in front of the TV, covered by a quilt, to rest. I read until 4 PM when I managed to finish the book and head downstairs. I got all of my project drawers sorted and arranged before beginning to iron fabric for a new project:
a small quilt for ME, to nap under when I'm downstairs!! I’ve had this focus fabric:
since Mary Jo and I went to the Paducah show…at least 30 years ago. I always wanted to make a jacket for myself….but I don’t think that’s happening….so a quilt it is!
I spent a bit of time crawling around the floor after that, getting all of my zip strips attached to the legs of my tables….Michael had to come down to rescue me and help me back up off of the floor…but I am now all ready to go with this new project!
Michael and I watched hours of the Olympics in the evening.
*** We celebrated last night with a couple of adult beverages…..Metamucil & Ensure. ***
Love you new quilt fabrics. You deserve a quilt just for you. Not going to be at SHQ. Quick trip to Michigan this weekend.
Fabrics for new project look stunning together. Any hint what the pattern is going to be??? or are you waiting to surprise?
