Another wonderful breakfast from my honey on Monday (11/14)…I took home a poppy seed roll from retreat, and got an egg sandwich:
After that, I started to work on borders for the rainbow butterfly quilt:
When June was here Sunday night before we left on retreat, we auditioned some fabrics for the small, inner border and I got that put on:
While I certainly don’t ascribe to the axiom of ‘’put some yellow in every quilt’’….since I think it would look positively ugly in this one:
I do think it’s worthwhile to think about it. Originally I was looking for a deep periwinkle for the small inner border, but I think I made the right choice with the yellow/orange instead…it brightens it up!
My honey left around 12:10 PM for 9 holes of golf here at SCCL and I got a second (and last) border put on the quilt (that's borders done on 2 quilts, with 2 more to go!):
I headed upstairs after that for some binding…..I am working on the to-be-bound pile…and hope to get those all done in a week or so:
New friend Susan (and that is the last time I will use that appellation. I have mentioned her often enough as to not confuse her with former neighbor Susan) came by with her dinner and we ate and sat and talked for about THREE HOURS!!!!! We always have so much to talk about, and it ranges from books to plays to struggles to memories….to many other things….it was GREAT!
When she left, I shut down my machine and snuggled with my honey in front of the TV.
And for your funny....Michael and I both enjoyed this one....
Sorry about the mayonaise!!!
Very nice selection on the inner border of the butterfly quilt!
