Champagne & puffy things, Mary Lee's shawl

What a surprise (not!!), the ''orange menace'' lied yet again (his stock in trade):

New emails released by the General Services Administration debunk claims made by former President Donald Trump and his allies that the government agency is to blame for packing boxes from the White House that ended up at his Mar-a-Lago residence after his presidency. Former presidents are allowed to take certain government materials and office equipment to set up a permanent office away from the White House. But that does not include the sort of classified documents Trump took to Mar-a-Lago -- which are at the center of an ongoing Justice Department criminal investigation. Trump and his allies have said GSA was responsible for classified documents being at his Florida home. The newly released emails, however, make clear that the boxes had already been packed and sat shrink-wrapped in an empty office space.

I was up early on Saturday (10/15) to jump into quilting….I think I picked the right thread color….in person you can barely see it:

I worked on that all morning, and by early afternoon…I was done:

While it was stitching out, I continued to cut my cool colors for the AZ Mary quilt at retreat (I don't know why that green on the right photographs with so much yellow in it....it doesn't look like that in person):

I got my second quilt loaded and basted:

and started quilting on that:

By the time I quit at 6 PM, I would say I was 3/4 of the way done.

I had to quit a bit early because it was date night with my honey, and we had previously decided on a double feature: NATIVE GARDENS/THE CHRISTMAS STORY! And of course…there was champagne to celebrate our vacation (with our frozen strawberry ''ice cubes''):

and puffy things:

and popcorn:

I had brought up one of my craft drawers filled with HST's....I needed to cut the dog ears off of all of them....so of course Ethel had to settle in once I was done:

And Mary Lee got her knitting ends woven in, just in time for cooler weather up in the mountains of North Carolina. Her wrap is made with one strand of purple merino wrapped in skinny black silk and then combined with purple mohair/silk strand.:

*** I have learned two very important things in life…..I don’t remember the first one, but the second one is to write everything down. ***
