Christmas Day

********************************

Christmas Day (12/25) – one of our favorite days to spend together. We got our coffee cake put together and in the oven:

Michael calls this ‘’Drakes cakes on steroids’’…if you’re from the northeast, I’m sure you know what he means….

After that we opened our first gifts, so...you know about us and Christmas gifts...right? They're always from a specific Santa.....so, from foot Santa:

and comfy tushie Santa (cushions to take to retreat....since the chairs were SO VERY BAD!!!).

We did a few other things around the kitchen and by then our breakfast was ready and it was yummy:

and then we opened another present….from ’’I’ll teal you all about it’’ Santa:

and 7 Squared Santa:

By then it was almost NOON and Michael and Cookie went for a walk, while I headed to my studio. When Michael got back from his walk…we opened another present….this is from ‘’reading is fundamental’ Santa (thank you personal shopper Gale (who got the frame for me)!!!):

I couldn't believe it, but he actually guessed exactly what this was....it's from his trip to see AJ several months ago...and I guess he has been thinking about how to get this picture from his phone and onto some other venue!!!

And this is from ‘’eat your heart out’’ Santa:

(My honey knows I don’t like regular Reeses peanut butter cups because the ratio of chocolate to peanut butter is all wrong…but all of the shapes they make for the holidays (trees, pumpkins, hearts) are just perfect!!! But he also knows I won't buy them for myself!)

It was back to the studio after that, to cut batting, cut backing and get it loaded up:

And to load up the first quilt:

I loaded enough backing for 2 quilts and these will probably be my first 2 completed quilts of 2022, and I'm glad they are QoV's.

We continued to work (Michael on his golf course and me on the longarm) until our dinner of ham & cheese sliders. And we continued to open presents every couple of hours:

-from hanging around Santa

-from ''take a paws'' Santa

-from patience Santa (thank you again personal shopper, Gale!) And again, this was from Michael's trip to visit AJ....she would sit outside his door every morning, waiting for him to get up

-and from rainbow Santa:

This is Michael, replacing my 3 Tervis cups....whose seals have all been compromised.

-then we had from kitchen Santa...a little basket to corral all of the junk we have on our kitchen table:

-and literary Santa:

We finally finished up our Christmas cards in the evening while watching (from 2nd verse, same as the first Santa) THE SECOND BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL. It was a wonderful and perfect day....we are SO LUCKY!!

*** My wife was mad at me for my addiction to the Monkees. I thought she was joking.

But, then I saw her face…..now I’m a believer. ***
