Christmas Tea

Friday morning (12/9) was all about getting ready for the Christmas Tea….getting the mulled cider in the crockpot, setting out extra chairs, setting up tray tables, putting out plates/silverware/napkins…of course set up was easy peasy as I had Janice and Michael helping :~).

Everyone arrived at NOON, and it was a zoo in the kitchen for just a bit, until people settled in with food:

and drink and talking!!

My honey was wonderful…staying downstairs to keep Cookie quiet, and the kitties away from all of the food!

I think everyone had a wonderful time, and when they left around 2 PM, Janice and I cleaned up the kitchen, kicked off the dishwasher, and collapsed. Sometimes I wonder why I continue to have these teas…but the number of people who tell me what a good time they had, and how wonderful everything was, and what a good time I myself have, make it more than worthwhile.

We were pretty wiped out until around 4 PM, when we roused ourselves and headed to the studio. Janice worked on binding for the fish quilt (it's for a great-nephew, whose father is a avid fisherman):

-can you see the fish motif with waves she chose for the quilting?

while I got my blog out, then I was a total lump, while Janice got a second wind and cut and cut and cut (all for the Bonnie Hunter mysetery quilt) for the rest of the evening, while we watched NOTTING HILL (NETFLIX). My honey unloaded the dishwasher and put in a second load, so by the time I came upstairs for bed, all of the clean-up for the party was done!

The best thing about the Christmas Tea? When I was cleaning up the front bedroom, I found 3 more quilts I can take to dialysis next week :~).

I hope Janice gets a picture of the finishes quilt and posts it on BH Facebook page. It is beautiful and can't wait to try my hand at her vision of the fish quilt.
