Christmas Tea!!, Carol learns ripped napkins, purple top done, Disappearing 9 patch done

Friday morning (12/20) Michael and I hopped up to get the house ready for the Christmas Tea!  It was the inaugural use of the new Christmas napkins:

and holiday tablecloth:

Everyone arrived around NOON (except for a few friends who came early to help out, since my usual helper Janice is in Connecticut!!):

-Diane & Pam

-Carol & Linda

-Sandy D & Loree

-Floy & Kathy

-Cindy & Pat

-Joann & Cindy

-Gale

-Ginny & Kay

-I had Iris text me a selfie, since I never got a pic of her :~)

-Karen & Sally

We had tons of great food:

and lots of talking and laughing:

Most everyone left just before 2 PM.

I got to relax with just a few friends for a bit after that, but eventually everyone went home and Michael and I got everything into the dishwasher and kicked it off.  I just relaxed for the rest of the day and read my book…it was a wonderful tea!

We settled in with another Christmas movie….ELF….for the evening.

Michael left for golf Saturday morning (12/21), but they ended up only playing 9 holes as it was WAY TOO COLD!!!

I knit a bit in the morning, then Carol came by and we headed to the studio.  She was fascinated by the ‘’ripped’’ napkins at the tea yesterday, and wanted some for Christmas.  I have a lot of Christmas fabric….and I don’t really use much anymore as I am not doing craft fairs anymore (where I would make Christmas table runners) so I told her to come by with her Christmas plates.  We found some fabric in my stash that went beautifully:

and I even found a fabric covered platter that coordinated:

I got the fabric all ripped into 18 inch squares....and she headed home....she left a happy camper….excited to sit and ‘’shred’’ the napkins tonight while watching TV :~).

The purple quilt top is finished with 2 borders:

but I like to quilt 2 at a time if I can, so I dropped back to working on my disappearing 9 patch, and by dinnertime I had the inside all sewn together:

And, I embroidered another ‘’tree’’ card:

Melanie (our Fiber Nutz hostess) really loved it when she saw it at the weaving party….so I thought I’d do one just for her.

Michael and I watched the last 2 episodes of the Great British Baking Show….the show stopper was incredible and we definitely agreed with their choice of the winner!

Sunday morning (12/22) I made another run of sugared pecans.  Michael got them all bagged up and we headed out to deliver all of our goodies to neighbors and friends.

By the time we got home, it was close to 2 PM, and Michael settled in to watch a taped UCONN game, while I headed to the studio to continue working on stuff. I got the borders on the disappearing 9 patch:

And got a label embroidered on the purple quilt front:

I also put away a bunch of fabric before joining my honey for more cooking shows…getting kind of caught up on Holiday Baking Championship.

*** Here’s the problem with fruit: it’s inconsistent….some apples are delicious, some taste bad….sometimes blueberries are great….sometimes they are disgusting.  You know what’s the same every time?  Doritos! ***

*** All I’m saying is…the house doesn’t fill up with annoying fruit flies when I buy donuts! ***
