By the way...if you're keeping track...the recent Florida State University shooter has been identified and is:
-not a drag queen
-not a trans person
-not an immigrant
-not ''woke''
-not DEI
He's just a white, homegrown tRUMP supporter.

I SKYPE’d with Janice on Wednesday morning (4/16) and went for a massage. Michael headed out for golf around NOON and came home at 4 PM with a scorching 39!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He was a happy camper as he and Freya took off for the dog park.
I did intake on a customer quilt that has to be turned around by Friday, so I asked Michael if he would mind if I continued to work on it in the evening. I stayed in the studio until just after 9 PM and got the quilt loaded:

and got about 40% of the way done with the quilting:

Thursday (4/17) was mostly about quilting…with a little bread and lots of birthday fun thrown in! It was Cindy’s birthday:

And she brought THREE ice cream birthday cakes to share:

One of my bread students wanted to make rolls for the dinner before their Maundy Thursday service….so I helped just a bit with those…otherwise I worked on the baby quilt and got one block done.
I laid it out:

and thought I remembered ‘’mountains’’ in the layout, so I flipped the snowball blocks around to this:

I think it is MUCH better…what do you think?
And of course, we had lovely show and tell:

Several design walls were set up with lovely looking blocks:

When I got home from quilting I put together Easter rice krispy treats for Iris and family. Someone at quilting asked me what made them Easter treats and I replied ‘’the pastel colored peanut m&m’s I’m going to stir in before I pack them into the 9’’ by 13’’ pan!!!’’
Iris picked me up at 6 PM and we headed out to our cookie decorating class….what a blast:

We both loved ALL of our cookies and we’re going to try to practice our decorating more this year.
I got home after 9 PM and I was beat, so I just joined my honey on the couch. He woke up feeling very punky (coughing all night and a bit of a scratchy throat), so he ended up going to bed early to try to beat whatever this is.

I was up at 6 AM on Friday (4/18); my mind going a million miles an hour about things I still needed to do to be ready for retreat on Saturday. Paramount was kicking off quilting on my customer quilt. Janice is bringing a quilt with her today that we hope to get loaded before we leave for retreat….so my customer quilt needs to be off of XENA! It’s a big quilt, so I knew it would take several more hours to get all done quilting it. And, sometime over the last 3 days, I finally got all of the columns sewn together on my Beds=Dreams and got them all pressed.
Michael helped me to put it up on the design wall so that it can be measured and I can get backing and batting cut for it…I hope to quilt it as soon as Janice’s is done!

After that I finished pulling together my project box…adding rulers and thread (thread is easily forgotten!) and an iron and a tailor’s clapper and my special retreat extension cord.
My customer quilt was done around 2 PM, and she came right over and picked it up. At that point I started laundry (because of course when you’re going away, you gotta do laundry the day before!) and headed back to my computer to get a few blog entries written. Janice arrived at 3:30 and we went through a bunch of fabric before heading downstairs to load up a quilt:

And 10 years ago....
*** Every time I think I have a new hobby, it turns out I just like to buy stuff! ***
*** Finally, my winter fat is gone...now I have spring rolls. ***
Your quilt on the design wall has a 3 dimensional look. I like 👍
We still have a busy and fulfilling life! I remember that night at Carmina burana.
I love your blog
