Connections top done, Fiber Nutz Show & Tell, cookie decorating with Iris

Donald Trump posted an AI-generated image portraying himself in a Jesus-like role, then deleted the Truth Social post after criticism from both supporters and opponents. The image showed Trump appearing to heal a sick man, creating political problems because objections came from across the ideological spectrum and emerged during his broader dispute with Pope Leo XIV.

Monday morning (8/24) Michael had a tee off time around 11 AM….and I had the library craft group in the morning.

When I got home, I had an absolutely glorious afternoon!!!  No noise from the longarm, no noise from my embroidery machine, just an afternoon of piecing and watching TV, with the result at dinnertime of this:

This top is totally done.... I love it….but I will not do another one!  Too many little pieces!!

Iris came over to sew Tuesday morning (8/25).  She said for the first time in SIX YEARS…..she had many hours without any kids (as they are both in school) and she kept feeling like she was forgetting something.  She would be doing something, then suddenly stop and say ‘’where are my kids’’, before realizing they are both in school.  It is somewhat of a disconcerting feeling….but I’m sure she’ll get used to it and LOVE it eventually!!  She is working on a Halloween quilt….based on the one Leila did several years ago and it is SO VERY CUTE!!!!!  While she was here, I added some fabric to my 108’’ wide dark gray, to make it even longer, and got it loaded up on the longarm:

After she left, I just had time for some yoghurt and raspberries before heading off to Kathy’s house for a monthly Fiber Nutz meeting.  We had NINE people there and it was very lively!  Lots of far ranging discussions, with lots of good food and of course, a bit of show and tell:

I didn’t get home until almost 5 PM and had a bit of time to talk with my honey before he left to pick up Larry for the movies.

I headed downstairs…and the minute I saw the backing I had attached to the frame….I said a curse word!  I don’t know why, but as soon as I saw it, I realized that I had only cut it as wide as my quilt top!!!!  I had 64 inches stuck in my head….and forgot to add on the additional 8 inches!!!  What a BOOBY HEAD!!!!!!  So, I unpinned it from the frame, cut another piece of gray 11 inches by 108 inches (I had to account for a seam allowance)…..cut another piece of my extra fabric at 11 inches by 14 inches…..sewed those 2 pieces together….then sewed that 11 inch wide by 122 inch long piece to my original backing….got all of my 1 inch seams pressed open…and loaded it back onto my frame….whew!!!  My brain was obviously NOT FULLY TURNED ON when I cut the backing the first time…..I even considered ‘’trimming’’ my quilt tops to make them fit when I first realized it….but I finally said to myself ‘’just suck it up and fix it properly!’’

After that, I settled in with knitting and TV watching.

I spent Wednesday morning (8/26) video chatting with Janice, then made my standard breakfast lately:

a gorgeous cut up peach from Bush ‘n’ Vine, fat free plain yoghurt and some cinnamon.  The peaches are so sweet they taste like they have been sprinkled with sugar….heaven!!!

After that it was a lovely and long conversation with Pam R, then I buckled down and got some embroidery done.  I got a label on the front of a quilt:

and got it loaded and basted:

I got the program set up, but by then my honey was home, and after we talked for a bit, it was time to shower and take off for our yearly dermatology appointment.

I got home in time for Iris to pick me up and head out to ILLUMINATIONS in Fort Mill for a cookie decorating class.  WE had a BLAST:

but when I got home at 9 PM, I just sat like a dead thing on the sofa and watched TV before heading for bed!
