I ran to PANERA, the DOLLAR TREE and ALDI first thing Friday morning (12/13), then sat in on another phone call with Michael’s blood pressure clinic. We are happy that his blood pressure seems better and they want to check in after another week.
After that he left for lunch with the guys, and I cleaned up the kitchen, then went to my studio to buy an update for my longarm. I thought I would buy it and get it installed right away, but the link doesn’t come through immediately, so I worked on my blog and finally got it out around 1:30 PM.
Iris showed up around 2 PM for another session of COOKIES WITH IRIS:
We made Baklava cookies, orange butter/shortbread cookies (which Michael said just melted in his mouth) and one more run of cracker toffee (as I needed it to give out to neighbors).
She left around 5 PM and I read my book for a bit while Michael was at the dog park.
We settled in after dinner to watch our first Christmas movie….DIE HARD!

Michael got a lot of the kitchen cleaned up Saturday morning (12/14) and I finished it up after he left for golf.
I headed to the studio to continue working on the purple quilt…stopping only when Marcia came by with the perfect gift:
She said she had to buy it for me when she saw it as it was just screaming my name! I just have to figure out where to put it in my sewing room.
I spent the rest of the afternoon working on my strata, and by a late dinner of mac ‘n’ cheese, it was done:
Now I just have to trim it and cut the strips for the ''steps'' in the quilt....stay tuned.
We watched our second Christmas movie….LOVE ACTUALLY.

Sunday morning (12/15) I got strips cut from my strata and got the off-set all pinned by the time Ed and Carol picked us up to head to Theatre Charlotte for a performance of SCROOGE! We all agreed the costumes and stage set were fabulous:
but were very disappointed that the actors weren’t miked. Maybe there were too many of them, but considering that they spoke with accents and frequently were facing upstage, it make hearing difficult.
We headed to Libretto’s afterwards for dinner…as this restaurant had just been favorably reviewed in our monthly magazine. I got a pizza:
while Michael had Eggplant Parmesan:
We enjoyed our food…but it is basically a noisy sports bar (with at least 8 TV's) and not the atmosphere we were led to believe from the article. Still, we had a wonderful time with Ed and Carol and were sorry to be dropped off around 7 PM.
We watched a couple of baking shows and relaxed before bed.
And 10 years ago....

Gotta admit, I love a sports bar with pizza!
The tiny sewing machine is just adorable.
