Michael headed out early Tuesday morning (5/31) to get one of his hearing aids repaired (it stopped working over the weekend), while I headed to the studio to give myself a kick in the butt to get my customer quilt loaded up:
I got my first basting pass done, but when I scrolled it up and checked the back….I had a bunch of tiny pleats. By the time I realized it, Michael was home and it was time to head over to the doctor’s….routine appointment for Michael and one more blood test (related to my anemia) for me. Then we headed to WALGREENS for the 2nd COVID booster…they were doing only by appointment, so we continued on to PUBLIX. We got the second booster, only it was a MODERNA and our original shots were PFIZER, so they asked us to stay an extra 15 minutes to make sure we didn’t have any reaction. We finally got home at 4:30 PM and Michael threw the laundry in the dryer, and I headed to my computer for a bunch of paperwork. I got all of that done and continued to rip out the basting, remove the batting and top, un-pin the backing, take off the selvage, and re-pin the backing to get rid of the pleats in my customer quilt. Then it was back to basting again, but finally it was done:
Michael left at 6 PM for the movies (I think they were seeing the new TOP GUN movie in IMAX), and I had a delightful evening. Mary Lee’s social life has recently exploded, and I wanted to hear all of the details, so I called and we chatted while I sewed on squiggle quilt color #5. By the time we hung up (3 hours later), that color was done:
Only one more color to go!
Michael came home shortly after that and after a bit of talking, we went to bed.
