I didn’t have time on Friday morning (5/19) for much more than emails and the blog before Diane picked me up at 11:15 AM for lunch. We went to Emmet’s in Waxhaw and solved the problems of the world while chowing down on fried deviled eggs and pork nachos, before heading to Lancaster to drop off quilts to dialysis. I had 4 quilts, the cool colors and warm colors Arizona Mary patterned quilts, and then 2 donated by Loree:
After that we made a quick stop in the main library in Lancaster so that I could show Diane the quilt I created just for them, filled with sayings about reading and books:
before getting home before 3 PM. I worked on quilting my customer quilt, and by dinnertime, it was done:
Michael and I split a grilled ham & cheese sandwich for dinner, and finished up the last of the Asian coleslaw.
Michael still wanted to watch a bit of golf after dinner, so I started to iron fabric and cut out pillowcases for the next time SHQ donates to the Lancaster Children’s Home. As I was re-folding fabric in the closet on Thursday, I found some that I thought would make great kid's pillowcases, and since my 4 patch top is done, I want to take a little time to figure out what I'm starting next....making pillowcases will still allow me to be productive, but not start a new project for me, until I'm ready. And as if my charcoal rocking chairs are not soft enough, Lucy decided to just snuggle in on top of everything else on the chair:
Janice has had a lot of green in her scrap stash that she has tried and tried over the years to use in her quilts…but the green (and brown) shades seemed just too ‘’off’’ to use. Finally she had an inspiration and google’d camo quilts….and voila…she found a block she liked and away she went. This should make a perfect quilt for some little boy:

Some days I swear I’ll never give up.
Some days I just swear… ***
