What a loser.....sleepy Don....8647!!!
********************************************
I hopped up early Tuesday morning (11/25) and got all of my oreos and nutter butters dipped:

As always, my honey is around to bag everything up:

My finished candy shelf is really building up:

I’m gradually changing some of my recipients….I want to use more of these as ‘’thank you’s’’ to the people who don’t normally get thanked, but work hard to make my life better. So, that would include people like CVS pharmacy (who I’m sure get yelled at on a regular basis, and rarely, if ever, thanked!), the bank and of course, the library :~).
Oh yes…and the ice maker repair guy who came yesterday and was thrilled to take a bag of White Trash :~). Speaking of him….he originally thought the ice maker part would take a week to come in, but he just called and will be here this afternoon….SCORE!!!
I spent the afternoon at Pam’s house for our Fiber Nutz meeting. Well – that was what was supposed to happen (I typed that sentence before I left!), but I was there for 20 minutes when Michael called me…..ice maker guy was there, and he said whole refrigerator is now KAPUT!!!!!!
I come home and Michael and I headed out to buy a new one. We missed getting delivery on Wednesday by 25 minutes….oh well….it will come on Friday. In the meantime, we moved a bunch of stuff to a neighbor’s fridge! I was exhausted, but Michael had dinner and headed out to the movies, and I managed to knock out a small customer quilt before he got home:

Michael left for golf on Wednesday (11/26), on the first 9 he scored a 52….and on the second 9….a SCORCHING 40!!!!
I video chatted with Janice before Pat came over around 11 for quilting. She had a ginormous quilt, made as a Christmas present for George:

and I can’t believe it, but we got it all quilted by around 4 PM….

-this is the back, which really shows the quilting...

but both of us were totally exhausted!!!
Michael got our turkey breast from the neighbor's house and I put my dry brine on it before we collapsed in front of the boob tube!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING (11/27)!!!! We were up early and Michael dove into making his potato/carrot mash, while I relaxed in the studio for a bit. My kitchen ‘’work’’ didn’t begin until NOON when I started the roll dough and got the turkey in the oven and got my gravy thickened. Pam arrived extra early and visited with me in the studio….we had lots to talk over, so it was a good thing!

Our other guests arrived around 3:30 PM:
-Connie, Laura, Pam

-Susan

-Dave

bringing lots of lovely side dishes with them:

and we sat down to dinner (I was thrilled to find this tablecloth in the drawer as I had totally forgotten making it! :~)

I think everyone had more than enough to eat and after we cleared the table, we played a couple rounds of exploding kittens, then switched over to 5 CROWNS.
Pam, Connie and Susan all had to leave around 8 PM, but Laura and Dave stayed, and we finished out the game….all the way to KINGS. Even though our fridge died on Tuesday, and we had a couple of other problems….everything worked out and it was truly a lovely day. I remember one other Thanksgiving where our oven died….either on Wednesday (the day before Thanksgiving) or on Thursday morning, and we still managed!
We still have LOTS to be thankful for…and we are!
And 10 years ago....
-(if you don't normally read the 10-years-ago stuff, this one is well worth a look!)
*** I think ghosts are just people who died while trying to fold a fitted sheet. ***
*** I've reached the age where I appreciate a nice handrail. ***
*** We do not throw away perfectly good food in this house...we put it in Tupperware until it goes bad....THEN throw it away. ***

What a wonderful 10 year ago thankfulness message!
