The internet is branding tRUMP a big baby after his attempt at wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, that sent social media into a frenzy. Instead of promoting brotherhood, unity, and peace on the auspicious occasion, the POTUS criticized political opponents in his Christmas message.
He took to X on the holiday and wrote, “Merry Christmas to all, including the Radical Left Scum that is doing everything possible to destroy our Country, but are failing badly. We no longer have Open Borders, Men in Women’s Sports, Transgender for Everyone, or Weak Law Enforcement.”
He only knows how to tear people apart....he has NEVER tried to bring the country together....

I spent Tuesday morning (12/23) wrapping a few Christmas presents and getting a blog out before heading once again to the vet’s. Lucy was only marginally better and we decided it was time to get some x-ray’s and see what is going on. We dropped her off and headed to Pat’s to pick up a few things.
My FABULOUS and WONDERFUL friend did the embroideries on 4 dresses I bought for Iris’s girls:

They are so beautiful and not a pucker to be seen! The dresses are made out of that heavy t-shirt type material and I am SO VERY GRATEFUL that Pat agreed to do them!!!!
I continued to quilt when I got home, and finished up the quilting on the embroidered QoV:

Michael and I finally got a chance to drive around in the evening, to deliver just a few Christmas treats and to see our neighbor's decorating efforts. We started out in the golf cart…and very quickly turned into popsicles, so after the first very long sojourn out to the end of Dovekie, we returned home and switched to the car! We saw some lovely sights:

-this is the island in Pat's development that gets decorated every year....
We were totally in the Christmas spirit when we got home.
We were still a little chilly however, and one of our friends had given us those hollow, chocolate balls filled with mini-marshmallows, so we made hot chocolate with those, spiked with a couple of shots of peppermint schnapps that we found in the liquor cabinet....yum...yum!!

I video chatted with Janice Wednesday morning (12/24) and then while I was having my breakfast at 11 AM, Paula stopped by with a Christmas gift:

I swear…the last time I had these was the last time SHE bought them for me! I don’t shop at WALMART and I don’t ever think to get them….even though they are the BEST ginger snaps around!!!
She stayed for a bit and we got a bit caught up, but when my honey came home from the vet's office, she bid us adieu.
We have a 3rd medicine for Lucy and the radiologist did find some arthritis in her spine, but I forgot to ask if it was something normal for her age. Their main concern is still the constipation and dehydration.
Michael got in a little golf practice in the afternoon before we picked up Susan for an early birthday dinner at Towne Tavern:

We had a good time meeting several of her friends. We stopped at home to take care of dinner for our fur babies, and grabbed the homemade Bailey’s and headed back to Susan’s house. She had a birthday cake and more friends:
-Erica, Tom, Josh, Susan - the birthday gal and my honey

and we played 5 CROWNS and the homemade Bailey’s was a HUGE hit with most everyone!
Susan makes a lot of the cards she gives to people, so I wanted her to have a special one...and my honey was happy to oblige (I'm so lucky to have a resident artist!):

We were home just after 9 PM and got all of our presents wrapped and around the tree:

then read for a bit before bed.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!! A wonderful, low-key day….just the way we like it.
We started off with raspberry Kringle for breakfast:

and a present each:
-this was from ''you know what this is...right? Santa''

-and this was from ''Tree Santa''

and the movie ELF. Other movies during the day were HOLIDAY INN and THE CHRISTMAS STORY CHRISTMAS.
We started opening presents around 9 AM, and finished up with our last ones at 8:30 PM:
-from ''Rainy Day Santa'', so that Michael and his posse can still play golf ''together'' when it is inclement golf weather

-from ''Short Walk Santa (that needed a little work!)

-from ''Remembering mom Santa''

from ''Does anybody really know _____ _____ _____ _____? (what time it is...YAY - Chicago!) My wall clock in the studio finally bit the dust, and I've been using a teeny, tiny clock from the bathroom that Michael hung up on the wall!! And I absolutely ADORE the shape of this clock!

-from ''Royal Santa'' (for shuffling on 5 CROWNS)

-from ''Mystery, yet acting Santa''

-from ''TV room Santa'' (since he started stealing coasters from the living room, I thought I'd make him some golf themed ones, just for his man cave

-from ''Warm & Meow-y Santa
We had ‘’puffy things’’ all through the day:
-mini-quiches

-egg rolls

-caramelized onions & gouda in puff pastry

and I got lots of knitting done on Michael's never ending sweater...and my hands paid me back in the evening :~(.
It was a magical and loving day….and so warm outside that we had all of the screen doors and windows open.....I love it every year.
We got the ABSOLUTELY BEST video from Iris.....her hubby took a video of the girls opening the dresses....and their QUILTS!!!! and the pop-up book we gave them as a family gift.....made us really feel a part of it:
And 10 years ago....
-(I wanted to do some NEW pattern with my beautiful gift of fabric, but 10 years ago I'm showing a disappearing rainbow 4 patch and I love it so much I think I'm gonna have to do that first!!!) Food and Fiber Floozie: Christmas Day!

*** To anybody I offended in 2025....work on yourself so I don't have to do it again in 2026. ***
