Embroidery flowers started, Iris's pieced Easter blocks, my honey's GET WELL card

The UK has announced that they are no longer going to share intelligence with the US because they “cannot trust” Trump!

It took a little less than a year for Donald Trump to ruin our special relationship with the United Kingdom, and it’s a sad sign of how far we’ve fallen that our closest allies cannot trust us anymore.

“A Foreign Office source told The i Paper that the White House’s “America First” approach showed Trump had ‘no compulsion about screwing over allies’ and stated that the UK simply ‘cannot trust’ the current administration,” reports the British media.’

Why oh why does this happen?  I finally got all of my odds and ends cleared up and off of my design wall….I have had an embroidery disk and a print out of the flowers and colors for probably months from a friend in my Machine Embroidery group…and at least 1 month ago, I stopped by Pat’s house where she graciously loaned me 13 spools of thread to get started embroidering the flowers.  And YESTERDAY WAS THE DAY!!!!!!  On Saturday I got 3 flowers embroidered, and so I came down to the studio Sunday morning (3/29) ready to jump back in…and my machine is not working  :~(.  ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!?!  It has taken me a couple of months to get to the point where I could embroider….not to mention YEARS of work on the quilt itself….and now my machine dies!  I am SO DISAPPOINTED!  It wouldn’t calibrate when I turned it on…..so, I kept turning the machine off and taking off my embroidery arm, then re-attaching and turning back on…and the 4th time was the charm….YAY!!!!!!  I got 3 more flowers embroidered, and got a customer quilt loaded up:

and started stitching it out…

but having my embroidery machine going AND my long arm going is pretty conducive to making me crazy….so I kept trading off between the two :~).

I made another pizza for dinner.....I don't think it looks as good as the one last week...but I had cheddar cheese that needed to be used up...so that was that:

-homemade pesto

-sauce

-I put onions and pepperoni on my side, while Michael opts for mushrooms and spinach....

My honey and I were watching TV last evening and saw an ad for Eggo Waffles…and I said ‘’we haven’t had waffles in a long time’’…so I made up overnight waffle batter (absolutely the best waffles!!!)…and this was our Monday morning (3/30):

=with my honey's smurfy potatoes

After that I had another fight with my embroidery machine….but the 7th time was the charm (turning off the machine…removing the embroidery arm….re-installing arm….turning back on) and I got more flowers done:

I’m now out of thread colors and have to borrow more from Pat, but I’m going to wait until I’m back from my visit with Arizona Mary….I’m leaving this Saturday.  I also got a few more blocks done for the CONNECTIONS quilt:

and I finished the quilting on my customer quilt (it was a small one).  Ideally, I’d like to have all 3 of her quilts done before I leave….but I don’t know if that’s going to happen.

My honey and I had leftover pizza for dinner, and I knit the night away while we watched TV.

I was sewing a seam on my customer’s backing fabric when Iris showed up on Tuesday (3/31):

I don’t know what the heck she was doing here as she (and hubby and 2 kids) are leaving tomorrow for a visit to Ecuador….and I’m SURE she will be the one packing for everyone!!!!  But…her Easter quilt is just going to be so pretty:

Don't forget, she will be alternating these pieced blocks with the applique bunnies she has already finished:

I got the backing seam finished on the customer quilt and ironed, and loaded up my customer’s second quilt:

and got a program set up and kicked it off:

She’s coming to pick up her first quilt at the end of the day Wednesday, and I’d love to have this one done as well…but it’s much bigger than the first one and I’m not sure that’s going to happen.

Iris and I talked a lot about my One Block Wonder center panel when she was here, and I may be deciding to go in a different direction for that center panel….we will see  :~).  I also kept working on CONNECTIONS during the day and finished another set of blocks:

Michael left at 6 PM to pick up Larry and go to the movies to see PROJECT HAIL MARY….we’ve both read the book TWICE and I can’t wait for him to come home and tell me all about it.

Well - he came home, and said '''out of 5 stars....I would give it only 3-1/2.'' I was so disappointed to hear that!!! But the problem is something that both of us continually complain about with the TV as well...he said the movie followed the book closely and we talked about several of the scenes, but he said the music over shadowed EVERYTHING!!! Many times you could not hear, or could barely hear the dialog. Who (and when) decided that we need music behind and over EVERYTHING?!?!?!?!?!

I video chatted with Janice Wednesday morning (4/1) and got one pass done on my customer quilt before leaving for my massage.  When I came home, I got Michael’s overnight yoghurt into grab-n-go containers:

-fruit on the bottom, then the yoghurt

-a little bit of jam for sweetness

and into the fridge before going straight to the studio to continue working on my second customer quilt.   I called my customer and told her that if she could push back her pick-up of her first quilt from 4 PM to 5 PM….I would have the second one done for her and she seemed fine with that.  So….I continued to work…and by 5 PM, the second one was done and ready for pick-up:

Michael and I ate leftover pizza for dinner in front of the TV so that we could watch the Artemis rocket take off last night…..it was exciting!

I needed a GET WELL card, and my honey was kind enough to draw a gorgeous one for me...

I really love your customer's two quilts with the blue and white fabrics. Iris' Easter quilt is going to be so cute with the appliqued bunnies! Your floral embroideries are beautiful! Michael's card is stunning! Also, your pizza looks so yummy! Happy Easter!

Deb, I like the longarm quit design you used on the customer’s quilt. Would you mind sharing the name. Thanks.

Please tell Michael BEAUTIFUL card!! Also, I noticed on Connections blocks, it looks like you consistently used 2 different white-on-whites. Going scrappy ? or is there a secondary pattern you're shooting for? I cut all my backgrounds the same...
