When we got up on Friday moring (6/9) it was 61 degrees outside….WHOO HOO!!! I can’t believe it’s June 9th and we had all of the windows open and the air off by the time we went to bed last night! Anyway, first up was making another ice box cake:
as we will be having company for dessert tonight. Then I headed downstairs to get my blog out, and cut fabric for Pam. I folded the fabric and it looks beautiful:
I have to tell you something funny. Robin brought in a laundry basket of her fabric yesterday to Scrap Happy, and I got to fold a lot of it. And as I was folding it and stacking it into piles….like magnetism a bunch of quilters drifted over to check it out. And folding it is SO SATISFYING….BG – I think it’s even better than ripping napkins!!!
I left after 11 AM to meet a group of ladies and head on into Emmet’s in Waxhaw for a delightful lunch:
-Pat, Sally, Gale and then around the corner to Pam and Susan
We were supposed to have one other guest, but she had a horrific morning and didn’t make it. I think everyone had a good time (it was a very eclectic group) and the food was terrific:
I got pictures of the tree I think I want in my front flower bed:
and we were home by 2 PM.
I am (unfortunately) behind in writing sympathy notes as I have 3 to do, so I took about an hour to knock out 2 of them, before working on creating a card for a friend:
I completed the card:
and need to get it in the mail. I think, with the card done, that that completes everything on my impromptu TO DO list, except for the QoV write-up. I’ll have to work on that over the coming week.
I have a bunch of piddle-y sewing things to get done, but the only one I got done before dinner was a small, white border on the walk about quilt.
Marcia & Maury got here at 7 PM:
and while the guys played pool:
Marcia and I talked about tumbling blocks quilts, as she wants to do one soon, and I have an excellent book of instructions. We stopped for dessert (and I finally have a ‘’finished’’ picture of the ice box cake):
and then talked and talked until almost 11 PM!!!
*** I hate sex in the movies….tried it once….the seat folded up, the drink spilled and the ice ... well, enough said. ***
love the embroidered card ! One of these days I'll get to embroider !
Yummy!
Thanks for not showing my missed shot!
I went to Emmet’s menu, to try to figure out what you all had for lunch.

Did someone have the NashvilleChicken tacos.
