Ethel & Cookie

I was up early on Friday (1/6) and left 2 of my babies basking in the sun:

while I headed to my studio.

I got the blue chandelier quilt all cleaned up and trimmed and on the to-be-bound pile:

Of course, those 2 quilts left me with a huge pile of backing/batting that needs to be re-claimed....I'm not sure yet what I'm going to do with all of that gray:

Then I sewed together my joined rows for the on-point quilt:

I'm really loving this quilt....I'm hoping it will be big enough when I get it all sewn together that I don't have to add a border.

I decided I deserved a treat after that, so I STARTED MY NEW PROJECT!!!! I can hardly wait to get some blocks done and get them up on the design wall....so you know what that means??? I have been totally corrupted and am doing the BG/Mary Jo method of constructing quilt blocks :~). I stopped in the early afternoon to do intake on a quilt, and to meet with our landscaper about some changes we want to make, then it was back to the new project. I got my first strata done, and my 4 blocks made….now it’s back to the OCD Debbie method! The whole point of this quilt (at least for me) is to get the secondary pattern….and I need lots of blocks for that...you can't really see it happening with just 4 blocks, but I wanted to make just the first set so that I was sure my directions were right. Now that I know everything is working, I can drop back to sewing all of my strata first. This quilt will not be a quick one, but that’s ok as I counted…and I have 30 flimsies in my closet to be quilted while I'm working on it!!

We had broccoli leftover from the brunch egg dish, so Michael made that wonderful broccoli/craisen/sunflower seed salad, and I made up 4 more crab rolls (and now it's all gone...boo hoo!), and then 4 ham/cheese rolls for our dinner:

I knit in the evening while we watched a bunch of TV.
