Fiber Nutz, Happy Birthday to me!, SHQ Show & Tell

Senator Tommy Tuberville says if you ''hang around illegals'', you might end up getting arrested by ICE, even if you are a US citizen.

Congressman Ralph Norman says he's not concerned if US citizens get detained in ICE raids.

tRUMP's border czar Tom Homan, was a lobbyist for GEO group, an immigrant detention company that donated $1 million to support tRUMP in 2024. GEO group is estimated to make $400 million annually as a result of tRUMP's deportations.

This was NEVER about making America safer by deporting criminals.....it was ALWAYS about racially profiling brown and black folks as easy targets for profits.

OK, when I don't write everyday, I totally forget what I did!!! Tuesday afternoon (7/22) was my Fiber Nutz group and I was the host. I was determined to do my snacks out of stuff I already had in the house, and I think I did a pretty good job:

At first I felt really silly about putting out my custard cup full of homemade pickles....but they were a huge hit!!! I just had 4 ladies:

-Rosalie & Kathy

-Carol

-our newest member Terri

but we all had a good time showing what we were working on and talking.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!  Yep, Wednesday (7/23) was my birthday.  I had an electrolysis appointment in the morning, then a hair appointment.

When I got home, Michael and I had a piece of birthday cake (ice cream cake.....yummy!!!)…and I opened my gift:

ISN”T IT FABULOUS!!!!!  Yep – it’s an honest-to-goodness….why yes, I AM a princess, maybe-I’ll-wear-it-everyday….my very own TIARA!!!  I think I’m going to wear it everywhere!

I had a video chat with Janice in the afternoon and made good progress on Pam’s quilt:

but didn’t quite get it finished as I had hoped.

Thursday (7/24) was all about quilting…my honey packed up the car…and ALSO delivered an ice cream cake before we all stopped for lunch:

I wore my tiara and got lots of lovely compliments on it!  I got to start a new project (always a treat) and we had lovely show and tell:

This was Susie's last day and she wanted to make sure we didn't forget her, so she brought in some of her favorite quilts.....all hand pieced and hand quilted:

-this quilt was for her son and is quilted with lots of hidden messages in the quilting

ree

-she said applique is her first love

-she likes miniatures a lot too

-just to show you the real teeny-tiny size of those squares! Smaller than a fingernail!!!

I was home after 3 PM and headed to the studio to continue working on bindings and labels:

My honey came down in the afternoon and laid out some blocks I finished at QUAP, and just recently re-found:

We were very disappointed in the evening to find that we had watched all of the PBS PATIENCE episodes…..here’s hoping they do a season 2!

And 10 years ago....

*** Nothing refreshes my memory of what I need from the grocery store....like coming home from the grocery store. ***

*** Went to the doctor with a suspicious looking mole. He said they all look that way and I should have left him in the garden. ***
