Michael and I were up early on Friday (8/27) with lots to get done…I headed downstairs to get my blog out and after he had breakfast, Michael made me my usual egg/cheese/toast:
to keep me going. Paula agreed to make a donation quilt to raise money for the local animal shelter and she brought it down to be loaded up:
I got it all basted and got the program set up and kicked it off:
While that was happening, I finished cutting all of my colors for the squiggle quilt:
or at least a couple of strips from each color. Since I’m making up the pattern based on a picture, I’m not 100% sure of how much to cut, so I just made a guess for now. I finally pulled out my background fabric and started to cut that up as well. I quilted all day and by the time we stopped for a late dinner, the quilting was done :~).
We called Sally earlier in the day to tell her we had a surprise for her...and when she visited we gave her a pack of pierogi's....she was THRILLED!!!
I got another load of tomatoes from Loree’s garden….so it was French bread pizzas for dinner:
-I got sucked in to a skinny baguette at ALDI's
-spread it with the rest of my home made pesto
-cut and layered on fresh tomatoes
-and of course, mozarella cheese
-and after baking it got a final drizzle of balsamic vinegar....Michael said dinner was EXCELLENT!
I have some beautiful and fun ‘’friend’s show and tell'':
-a fellow embroiderer Ginny made this recently
-Janice is doing Bonnie Hunter's new leaders and enders 'fish' project...and is trying out different layouts
-Pat W is making 'frankenbags' with her leftover Kaffe fabric

I like Janice's top quilt design!
