When you’re a member of United Health Care, they send a health care worker to your house once a year for health screening and accident prevention stuff, so Annette:
was here for 3-1/2 hours to cover the both of us on Tuesday morning (3/28). Of course the kitties were intrigued with all of her stuff:
Here she is...warming my toes before conducting the nerve conduction and blood flow test:
When she finished up, I picked up Susan and we headed to the new Indian Restaurant in the Publix shopping center. I think this is the first time in my life I've had Indian food and our lunches were wonderful!!! I did the luncheon special….and at first thought it was a bit pricey (part of that is definitely because I am not used to post-pandemic prices!!!), but then I saw the food I got and oh my goodness…I definitely have enough for 2 more meals! I got 2 samosas:
and chicken tikka masala
and buttered naan bread:
and some kind of dessert and everything was superior.
And when we finished eating, we drove back and sat in front of Susan’s house…talking and talking and talking….I didn’t get home until 3:30 PM!
I spent 1-1/2 hours getting caught up on my emails, and finally at 5 PM I started loading up the quilt Paula dropped off on Monday afternoon. My honey left at 5:30 PM for the movies and I continued to work in the studio. I got the backing loaded, and the batting and then paused…I was very tired and I’ve learned not to do longarm stuff when I’m tired, so I started to sew together the second blue/embroidery quilt:
I only sewed a few seams before I remembered that I wanted to cut my fabric for Thursday quilting, which is charity day where we are doing pillow cases for the Lancaster Childen’s Home. So, I got the base of my pillow cases cut (I had a bolt of this kitty fabric and to be honest, I've made so many quilts out of it that I am sick of it....so decided to cut the remainder up for pillowcases!):
before heading upstairs to knit and wait for Michael to get home from the movies after 9 PM. He saw a John Wick feature, and said the body count was upwards of 300!!!
And to whomever left STA-FLO starch on my front porch….THANK YOU!!!!
*** Be safe on the roads out there today!!! My car just slid into the quilt store parking lot again. ***
Do you mix your own starch instead of using Best Press? You know I’m still a beginner & always trying to learn! Xo
