Michael headed to the grocery store first thing Sunday morning (7/30), while I put together an ice box cake for dessert…you know the drill on this already….3 layers of graham crackers (or your favorite cookies) and 2 layers of homemade pudding:
We’re having company for dinner and I had several dishes to work on in the kitchen. After that I cut up and set Loree’s tomatoes to drain for tomato pie:
mixed up my ground beef for juicy burgers, and tossed together an apple slaw salad:
After that, I headed to the studio and continued to work on making blocks from my Thursday sewing…and got most of them done before our guests showed up:
Before everyone came, I said to Michael ‘’well, I wonder how the evening will go since we’ve never had these people together’’….and after they left I said ‘’well, wonder no more…it was hard to get a work in edgewise’’!!! I think it was a totally successful evening. Debbie & Larry (hamming it up for the camera):
And Kay & Pete:
showed up at 6 PM and we had a wonderful dinner:
talking and laughing the entire time. Ethel came to watch over us during dessert:
Larry found ''senior Alexa'' on his phone, which Kay & Pete had never seen...and it was just as hysterical as the first time. If you've never seen it...check this out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvT_gqs5ETk.
Everyone left around 9:30 PM and Michael and I watched just a bit of TV before bed.

Classic SNL skit! And that tomato pie looks yummy!
I really wonder how much different the quilt would look with the first layout you started with yesterday
All of the food looks extremely YUMMO! I made our first tomato pi of the season last week and Claude declared it a success. The apple slaw looks great. Would you share the recipe?
Another successful Devo production!
