*** PSA - PLease don't ask me to explain how the blog works (or more importantly DOESN"T WORK!!!) Every time I call to find out why someone who has subscribed to my list is no longer getting it when I post, I get some totally run around explanation that makes no sense what-so-ever (not to mention that it always takes at least 40 minutes to get a ''real live person'')! Anyway, one of the things they said once upon a time is that if someone does not access the blog for some (short!) period of time, they get knocked off of the list. Michael and I are going on a cruise in about a week (thank goodness we have a house/dog/cat sitter that we love!) and there won't be any blogs for at least 2 weeks. Look for a blog sometime between Sep 24th to the 27th. If you don't get one, and you check the HOME page (Home | Food & Fiber Floozie) and there's one there that you missed, you may have been dropped. You can either try re-subscribing, or just email me your email address and I will add you to my personal list. I use my personal list to email each time I post. Generally once a year I write out to people to make sure you still want to be on it, otherwise you'll get emails each time I post.
PSA #2 - I apologize for the script font that has suddenly appeared on my emails....I did not choose it....I did not set it up...and I HATE it!!! Too hard to read, plus I am a COMIC SANS gal all the way. I keep going into my settings and trying to change it back...and it says it does it.....BUT NOTHING HAPPENS. I will keep trying, but until then I can only say I's sorry :~(.
And thanks to the orange menace...and his incompetent minions, Michael and I cannot get updated COVID shots before our cruise as they are not available until middle to end of September....GRRRRR!!

I got the program set up for Pam’s quilt Monday morning (8/31) and kicked off the quilting:

then made a black binding and started to bind the Connections quilt. I worked on those all day (with a short break for lunch provided once again by my honey (half of a grilled ham/cheese sandwich with half of the last of those great peaches):

and got Pam’s quilt almost finished….and got the binding all on the back side of my Connections quilt.
I made this chicken and rice dinner that Michael said was very good (we have a HUGE bag of rice that I am trying to use up) and I spent the evening knitting on his sweater. I couldn’t do it without him….I knit for about 20 minutes….then he gives me a hand massage, then I got back to knitting for a bit…then another hand massage….and so on throughout the evening. Without his massages, my arthritis would definitely prevent me from knitting as much as I would like :~).

I hopped up early on Tuesday morning (9/1) to get an icebox cake in the fridge for my honey (3 layers of cinnamon crisp crackers and 2 layers of homemade chocolate pudding...which really only tastes 15 minutes to make...and tastes infinitely superior to the box!):

This is a childhood favorite of his…and I felt like I hadn’t made it for him in a long time….I tried to make it Saturday morning while he was out as a surprise for when he came home….but I went into the fridge and….NO MILK!!! He went to the store yesterday, so I was all set for this morning.
I headed to the studio after that and Iris came by to work on her Halloween quilt (thanks Leila for the inspiration!):

I was working on binding for my Connections quilt, and by early afternoon, the binding was done for another totally finished dialysis quilt (as I mentioned...I do like how this quilt looks....but not sure I'll make it again as there were just too many tiny pieces!!):

And, I finished up the quilting on Pam’s quilt. I got it all off of the frame so that I can trim it on Thursday at quilting. I spent the rest of the afternoon cutting out fabric for a new Thursday project.
Michael headed out to the movies after 6 PM, while I spent the evening watching TV and knitting.

I was up early on Wednesday (9/2), determined to get another 2 quilts loaded up on XENA. I got my fabric pulled, and my 108’’ wide fabric ripped (it is so much easier to rip it than to try to cut it straight), before it was time to video chat with Janice. When we were done, I got a call from our financial planner to go over a few things, then it was back to my large backing. I got a piece sewn on to make it even wider than 108'', then loaded it up on XENA:

I started to piece my batting and got a program set up before one of my knitting students came by for a little help. By the time she left, I got 2 sets of strips cut to make binding at quilting tomorrow, then headed upstairs to make jam/oatmeal cookies….since Diane reminded me that tomorrow was pot luck!!!

Thursday (9/3) was all about quilting….we had lovely show and tell:

-Stacey made this totally out of scraps she collected at Scrap Happy!

and I got 2 bindings done before coming home around 3 PM and applying 1 binding to the back of the disappearing hourglass quilt.

We were both up early on Friday (9/4)…Michael took off for a chiro appointment, while I headed out for a hair appointment. I was home in time to take Freya to her grooming appointment at 11 AM, then sat at my computer for quite some time getting my new designs all set. I bought 4 new designs Thursday morning, plus I had bought 2 previously that I had never loaded. So, I got all of them printed out (for my longarm book), then got them input to my longarm computer, and changed out the program I had already set up to use one of the new designs for the latest quilt:

I quilted the rest of the day, along with finishing the binding on the backside of the hourglass quilt.
