More money to billionaires, but where will it come from?
The ''big beautiful bill'' will slash about $1 trillion from Medicaid, the joint federal-state health insurance program for low-income people and those will disabilities. It also includes cuts to the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program, or SNAP, which helps low-income Americans buy food, as well as to the Children’s Health Insurance Program and Planned Parenthood. It will take health care coverage or subsidies away from an estimated 17 million people over the next decade, while adding $4 trillion to the national debt during that period.
Every continuing tRUMP supporter and every Republican who supported this bill should be ashamed.

Well – it’s Tuesday, July 1st and I’m going to use the blog to keep me aligned with my new goal. Laura’s recent ‘’garage sale’’ of all of those beautiful batiks, and Jan’s recent infusion of gorgeous fabric kinda put me over the top and gave me a wake up call. How old am I? How much fabric do I have? How many years of quilting do I have left? Susie (SHQ quilter) is downsizing and has been bringing in tons of fabric every week:

and I have been scrupulously avoiding it!! And on the first of every month, I’m going to indicate how much fabric I bought (or was given and kept) over the last month. I don’t think I need ANY more fabric, except for occasional background fabric (and thanks to Jan I have a huge stack of whites and creams) and I think I still have a bolt of black from FOUST. So, I did not buy any fabric in June, and I am hoping to report that same statistic for the rest of the months of this year.
Michael left for appointments on Tuesday (7/1) for his feet and grocery shopping and a Lake House workout, while I spent a couple of hours on paperwork before leaving for PT for my back. When I got home, I fired up Xena again and spent the rest of the afternoon quilting on Sandy’s quilt….I’m sure I’ll be able to finish it on Wednesday, which is good as I’m doing intake on another customer quilt Wednesday afternoon.
Michael had a quick grilled cheese sandwich for dinner before leaving super early for the movies. BG and I SKYPE’d for an hour, then Iris came over and we worked until 9 PM on the new quilts. She had traced all of the butterflies and tulips onto WONDERUNDER and we got all of the colors picked out and I started to cut strips for her to use.

I am feeling encouraged that we will make our goal of Christmas for these 2 quilts for her girls :~).

Wednesday (7/2) was another morning of paperwork (some of it for taxes as I am trying not to have to do everything in January (or to be truthful....the end of March!!!) before dropping back to Sandy’s quilt. I did a bit of quilting on it, while trying to cut a strip off of all of Iris’s fabric choices for the quilt.

Thursday (7/3) was all about quilting…..I got a Spanish Coffee Cake baked in the morning:

while Michael packed up the car…and then I took everything to quilting. I got so many compliments on the coffee cake!!! I think I’d like to try it again, with chopped up apples.
We had some lovely show & tell:

Anyway, I was absolutely whipped when I got home and took a LONG nap! Michael made us grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner before heading up to the dog park, and I got a few more strips of color cut for Iris.
And 10 years ago....
*** My mood ring just vibrated, turned black and exploded! Is that bad? ***
And here's one for you Ed: 4 out of 3 people struggle with math. ***
What were the tiny quilt blocks those gals were holding?
Can’t wait to see how Iris’ quilt turns out… I’m impressed already!
