Donald Trump has faced intense criticism after his recent scatterbrained speech at West Point, which CNN has referred to as "disgraceful" and "embarrassing."
During his address to US Military Academy graduates, the 47th President of the United States turned heads not only with his wardrobe choice of a red MAGA cap but also with his abrupt departure from the event. Unlike his predecessors like Joe Biden and Barack Obama, who adhered to the presidential tradition of shaking hands with each graduate, Trump departed early, igniting swift condemnation across social media platforms.
CNN pundit Harry Sisson took to social media to denounce Trump's actions, stating: "Donald Trump left the West Point graduation ceremony early and didn't shake the hands of every graduating cadet, which is tradition for the president to do. You know who did? President Biden, President Obama, and others who actually care about this country. Disgracious."
During his speech, the 78 year old president surprised the audience by abruptly deviating from his prepared remarks, choosing instead to deride the late housing pioneer William Levitt, renowned for his role in shaping the American suburbia.
During the graduation ceremony, Donald Trump veered off course from honoring the graduating cadets and instead shared a lengthy, personal anecdote that left many in attendance stunned.
Trump's remarks included: "He had nothing to do. He ended up getting a divorce, found a wife. Can you say a trophy wife? It didn't work out too well - that doesn't work out too well, I must tell you. A lot of trophy wives, it doesn't work out."
He continued: "It made him happy for a little while, at least. He found a new wife. He got a big yacht."
The moment quickly gained widespread attention online, with many viewers criticizing Trump for turning the esteemed ceremony into a personal rant.

What does any of this have to do with anything? He sounds more and more unhinged every time he opens his mouth!

Tuesday (5/27) was a gloomy, rainy, RAW day! Janice finished up all of her quilts, so I sewed up a quick backing, and she loaded one of mine:

I'm pretty sure I did this top at the Fiber Floozies retreat 2 years ago. I got the program set up and kicked it off:

and worked on that all day, along with continuing to catalogue and put away fabric.
Janice picked up Dennis from the airport in the afternoon; he had a wonderful visit with daughter Michelle in Colorado. After dinner, Michael headed out to the movies, while the 3 of us relaxed and read for the rest of the evening.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO US! 20 years….who woulda thunk it?
All good things must come to an end…and so it was on Wednesday (5/28) that Janice and Dennis hit the road home around lunchtime:

I had a massage in the afternoon, and spent the rest of my time still cataloguing fabric….it’s probably going to be another week before I’m done! But that’s ok, it’s giving me time to reflect and decide what I want to work on next.
I made a quick trip to PUBLIX in the morning, so we could celebrate our ‘’official’’ anniversary with our favorite puffy things:

and champagne. And we snuggled together and watched ENCHANTED (a totally romantic and fun movie…gifted to us from Kay & Pete) in the evening.

My honey packed up my car with boxes of fabric and my sewing supplies on Thursday (5/29) and I headed out to quilting. I FINALLY finished my last block for the baby quilt….so watch for that to be sewn together, quilted and delivered soon! I also got to start some new blocks I cut out from some of Jan’s gorgeous fabric (along with a batik I'm sure was from Corinne!):

And we had lovely show & tell:

a GORGEOUS pie plate Judy made in pottery

My honey was out at the driving range when I got home, so I just read for a bit until he got home. We talked for awhile and had salads for dinner before settling in for TV watching.
And speaking of Floozies and show & Tell, I am so sorry I missed posting this picture on my QUAP write-up. Sometimes someone brings show and tell to retreat, and this INCREDIBLE/STUNNING piece was started several years ago....and was finally finished in time to bring for show and tell at the QUAP retreat:

I'm sure you can tell why I absolutely LOVE it!
And 10 years ago....
*** Due to inflation, you can now eat food that's been on the floor for 7.3 seconds. ***
*** It's funny how being old....doesn't seem that old....now that I'm old! ***
Love, love , love your purple quilt! Really loved the dachshund pillow. It reminds me of our dog, Taffy, when I was young. The quilt from your retreat is incredibly stunning! Really enjoyed your 10th anniversary pics!
I also like your purple quilt, took a picture of it, to keep as an idea
Love the rose block tooo
I do t remember seeing the fan stars at Quap, who made it?
Love the stars pattern quilt you made.
We have to duplicate our 10th for our 20th!
