Janice & Dennis, Lucy

Perhaps now is the time for all patriotic Americans who own assault weapons to donate them to Ukrainian soldiers.

YAY – as of when I woke up Wednesday morning (6/8) the scratchy throat was gone! I’m still taking it easy…Janice and I basically sat in the living room all morning talking, but by the time they left for home:

and I left for my knee doctor’s appointment, I was feeling a bit more energy.

I really liked Dr Wooster….first off, he was weirdly enthusiastic about my weight loss and A1c values….I say weirdly because he wasn’t involved in any of that…so had obviously read some history in my file and was conversant with what has happened since the end of January. He wanted to know all about it before we really got started….and gave me several virtual high fives (as I had previously declined to shake hands!)

He examined my x-rays and asked if I had always been bow legged! Well, that was news to me….and I asked him if he knew the old song ‘’I love to go swimmin’ with bow legged women and swim between their legs’’….he laughed and said yes….I thought he would have been a bit young for that! Anyway, he had recently had a cancellation….and my knee replacement surgery is now scheduled for June 24th….yikes!!! I am glad because I wanted at least 3 full months to recover before Michael and I go on our secret vacation (more on this later), but that means the surgery is only 2 weeks away…and I am very nervous/anxious. We discussed the recovery, and he confirmed that this would be a much tougher recovery than either of my 2 previous replacement surgeries (hip & shoulder)….even though the surgery itself will most likely be an outpatient procedure!!!!!

I stopped at WENDY’s on the way home for a vanilla frosty (word to the wise…they only have chocolate and strawberry for the foreseeable future…apparently strawberry has replaced the vanilla), and took a nap once I got home.

I was basically a vegetable until around 8 PM, when I headed downstairs and started to cut some fabric for a new Thursday project:

with Lucy keeping me company on the towering pile of quilts to be bound:

*** Welcome to adulthood…I hope you like ibuprofen. ***
