Sometimes I forget how rich I am…
-my hot water works on a dime
-my a/c works when I need it to
-I can go to any grocery store and purchase whatever I please to eat
-I have a clean kitchen to cook in
-I have a clean shower to bathe in
Sometimes I forget I am beyond blessed.

I hopped up early Friday morning (5/20) to make oatmeal/homemade peach jam bars (thanks Connie for the recipe!) for Michael to take to his luncheon:
Everyone is bringing their own lunch to one of the guy’s houses, and I asked Michael if he wanted to take along dessert for everyone….I think they’ll all be pleased. When we went to that memorial dinner at the golf club Monday night, it was really nice that several of the guys mentioned how much they like the treats I send along to Pinehurst with Michael. They are usually there for 3 nights, so I send along 3 different desserts…enough for each of the 12 guys to have one. It’s always nice to hear that what you do is appreciated!
I got my blog out, then left for my appointment with my PCP (primary care physician). He was OVER THE MOON with my progress….since I saw him at the very end of January, I’ve lost 25 pounds (you and I know that the majority of that was lost in the last 8 weeks :~). Plus, he was thrilled with my A1c reading….and the chart of my fasting blood sugar for the past 8 weeks. I cut my metformin dose in half about 3 weeks ago (I was worried about my blood sugar dropping to too low overnight), based on those readings and he agreed that was good. We’ll see if the dosage can drop again when I see him in 4 months. He said ‘’well, we don’t have any prizes or trophies to give you…’’, so he gave me a hug instead!
I was home just after 11 and had some tossed salad along with chicken salad (that a friend bought to me at quilting on Thursday). Michael did a bit of shopping on his way home from the luncheon, and by the time he got home, my stomach was really acting up. This happens once in awhile and I just have to get through it. I laid down for a bit, and got up when Paula came by to pick out her quilting pattern and thread color. We talked for a bit, and I finally made it downstairs just before 6 PM. The only thing I got done was loading up her minky backing:
before golf was over for the day and I joined Michael upstairs.
Janice has finished another beautiful scrap quilt…this one is big enough for a single bed quilt:
*** FABRIHOLIC – One who can’t control the urge to buy fabric they don’t have a project for….again! ***
*** I am NOT easily distracted. I… Hey look, fabric!! ***
Look a golf course!
