I had so many little things to get done on Friday (1/12). The regular morning stuff of taking the dog out and cleaning up after her and feeding her, and then getting my honey all set up with an ice pack on his ankle, then pulling together the checks and a letter to Bob (the ticket guy) for everyone going with us to the next Fort Mill Playhouse production, then setting up 2 labels on my computer for a quilt customer, after which I sent them off to her for approval.
I set up my mammogram appointment for this year and typed up an email to my advanced knitting students to get them ready for January 22nd when our classes begin. By then it was almost 10 AM and time to head off to a quick appointment in Ballentyne.
I was home by NOON with a few stops along the way. I spent the afternoon sewing on the Kindred Pinwheel quilt top and sashing and by dinnertime, it was all done:
YES….before you ask….I am really glad my brain finally figured out the cornerstone blocks….I think they look great! They are so easy….but I do them so seldom that I always have to re-figure out how to do them…and then when I do….I feel like a MORON because it was so easy!!!! And I am especially glad that I found that green fabric for the cornerstones....there was very little green in the layer cake I bought....and I thought Michael did an EXCELLENt job of spacing it out in the quilt....but I wanted to bring it in a little more. That green fabric is AT LEAST 15 years old!
I also got binding made for this quilt top:
You know…it’s annoying to do it….but I am always SO VERY GLAD when I finish quilting something…and the binding is already done. I also managed to get one of my customers labels stitched out:
before heading upstairs for dinner.
Michael had a baked potato with yummy toppings for dinner while I cleaned up my leftover Thai food and one piece of pizza.
I think I also finalized my ‘’goal’’ list for 2024…I did well on my 2023 objectives….so I printed out the 2024 list and posted it on my sewing wall so that I can see it everyday and think about if I am moving forward or not!
And BG has cranked out another pretty quilt top:
*** Auto correct made me say things I didn't NINTENDO. ***
That is some stash you have, to pull out fabric that is over 15 years old!
LOVE your Kindred Pinwheel quilt! The purple and green colors seem very soothing. BG's quilt is great too! It has an 'old-timey' feeling to it. I love the fall-like colors. Great work ladies!
Oh Deb, I just love the purple & green Kindred Pinwheel. I have the pattern & you’re giving me an abundance of ideas!
