Michael was very excited to get back to golfing on Monday (4/13) after the doctor imposed 4 weeks off for his pacemaker battery replacement.
I spent the morning at the library with the craft group…came home and made breakfast, then got my customer quilt off of the frame and all cleaned up. After that, I finally got to open the bolt of fabric I’ve had for 2 – 3 years as the backing for my king-sized MIRROR MIRROR quilt (BG - do you remember when we started these quilts?). I pieced 3 lengths of fabric:

for a backing that measures 105’’ by 124’’ and got a label stitched out on the front of the quilt:

before getting the backing loaded onto XENA. At that point, I was so tired I could hardly keep my eyes open (I stayed up WAY TOO LATE watching the new season of CALL THE MIDWIFE the night before), so I headed upstairs for a nap :~).
When I got up, I got the batting unfolded and onto XENA and finally got the top loaded:

and set up the program and kicked it off:

I just got one pass done before it was time to join my honey upstairs around 7:30 for dinner and TV.
We finally brulee'd our creme and had it for dessert.....yum!!!:

Michael was up early to get ready for his second day of golf in a row on Tuesday (4/14)….nothing like jumping in head first…he hasn’t golfed in a month….and will now be golfing 3 days in a row!
I of course, headed to the studio, excited to get back to quilting on MIRROR MIRROR! I kept up the quilting all day (there are 22 rows to get done and they are NOT fast!), and also started working on plan “B” for the One Block Wonder. Iris brought me some WONDER UNDER last week and I finally got it ironed onto my fabric and began to cut out flowers:

Yes, cutting these flowers out is doing a job on my hands (can you say arthritis!), so I’m going to have to cut and rest, cut and rest, until I get them all done. I worked on that all day (quilting and cutting):

and I don’t think it will be a problem to finish up my quilting before Friday when Janice will arrive with a quilt to be done!
Although it was Tuesday night, Michael and Larry couldn’t find anything at the theatre they wanted to see, so Michael and I stayed home and watched THE SEARCH FOR SPOCK.

Michael left early for his third day in a row of golfing on Wednesday (4/15). I video chatted with Janice in the morning, she will be here on Friday, and Saturday morning we take off for our QUAP quilting retreat in Tennessee. (And a blog note about that….I found out from blog admin that if you don’t access the blog for some period of time (they couldn’t be any more specific than ‘’some period of time’’), then you will stop getting the notification that a new blog has been posted. So, when I go on vacation and don’t post for awhile, that may happen and you would have to re-subscribe. If you get it directly from me in an email then you don’t have to do anything).
I got a Pecan Sour Cream coffee cake baked, and Pat showed up to drop off a bag shortly after it came out of the oven. She had a little piece before leaving for the Lake House, and I was very, very happy my honey got home from golf while it was still warm and had a piece of the coffee cake too!!!
I finally hit the studio at 1 PM to get back into quilting MIRROR MIRROR. While it is quilting, I am cutting out more flowers….

but I need to take breaks from the scissors…and when I am taking breaks, I am working on CONNECTIONS….so I finally finished up a few more blocks today:

AND, at 4 PM….I was DONE quilting my MIRROR MIRROR…..YAY!!! I have a KA-BILLION ends to weave in as I had some breakage problems on this quilt as well…but I don’t care…I can’t believe it is done being quilted :~).

I worked on the bobbins ends for just a bit before leaving for my CPA appointment. I killed myself to get my taxes in early, unfortunately the first appointment I could get to go over them was April 8th…..when I was coming home from Arizona. The next available was probably the last one on the last day….4:45 PM on April 15th. But, we got good news, Rob said it definitely paid for us to itemize….so I guess we will go that route again for 2026 taxes….even though it can be a pain!
And....I have one more GET WELL card, drawn by my honey...

And 10 years ago....
*** I'm the type of wife that will help her husband look for his chocolate...that I ate. ***
*** I was born female and identify as female....but according to STOUFFER's mac 'n' cheese portions, I'm a family of 4! ***
*** I chose the road less traveled....and now I don't know where I am. ***

Girl, you are never still ! The quilt is beautiful & I love Michael’s card.
