The US will send an additional 5,000 troops to Poland, President Donald Trump announced Thursday, an apparent reversal after recent moves by his administration to reduce the number of US troops in Europe. The surprise announcement creates further uncertainty about the US posture in the region. Read more.

Come home....go back....come home....go back....he changes his mind on a whim....based on nothing.....no wonder we are the laughing stock of the world right now.

We left the house at 8 AM Tuesday morning (5/19), for a heart doctor appointment in Pineville….stopped at McD’s for breakfast and then hit the chiropractor on the way home…..finally making it by NOON.

I headed downstairs to get busy quilting, but decided I was too hungry, so went back upstairs to heat up the other half of my omelet (from Monday) and read my book for a bit.  Finally I was back downstairs and got the stitching started on my QoV…

only to decide that breakage is my life!!!  Once again, I was having some breakage…not bad, but not great….but some Sewer’s Aid seemed to help, so I coated the thread every time I stopped.

Michael and I had salads for dinner, then he left for the movies and Iris came over to finish up our conversations from breakfast on Monday.

So, I have to show you these adorable pictures....Michael emptied my trash bucket, and within minutes I had 2 interested kitties checking it out...they each had to take a turn getting in and out of it:

Michael was out again super early for golf on Wednesday (5/20) but that was a good thing as it is supposed to get into the 90’s today :~(.

I got a bit more quilting done on the QoV, and a bit more stitching done on my center panel before leaving at 11 AM to pick up Sally and meet Gale at Metro Diner for lunch:

(I know...I know....not great selfie takers....right?) We had a good lunch, and a wonderful time talking…..and I visited a bit with Sally when I took her home, and was finally back at the grindstone by 2 PM.

I finished up quilting by dinner, and after talking with my honey for a bit, we settled in to watch TV and I re-claimed some backing fabric.

Michael left early for golf on Thursday (5/21) and I video chatted with Janice in the morning.  Quilting was cancelled….we had 2 cases of COVID announced days after last week’s meeting and in an abundance of caution, cancelled quilting for this week.

After talking with Janice and having a bite of breakfast and reading a bit of my book, I headed downstairs to start weaving in bobbin ends on my quilt.  I got that all done and trimmed it and put it on the to-be-bound pile:

After that, it was back to slogging through applique…but guess what?!?!!?  By dinnertime, I was finally done….YAYAYAYAY!!!!!
