I think this picture speaks for itself, except for one thing....when did this become normalized? Why is it not on the front page of every newspaper in the country? Why is it OK with all of the white men standing behind tRUMP that he sleeps through meetings?!?!?!

Michael and I both had had a doctor’s appointments on Tuesday morning (4/28)…his was in Pineville and mine was across the street! My weight has gone back up a bit and my doctor read me the riot act….as in…I’ve gotta get my act together and lose some weight! I’ve lost 25 pounds from my highest weight (it’s taken a LONG time, but now I’m just struggling). Stay tuned.
Of course, after that I picked up Karen and we met 5 other people at the Cake Lady Café for our Fiber Nutz meeting for April. We all had a wonderful time and decided we need to do this a bit more often than once every 2 – 5 years!!! None of us could remember how long ago it has been since we did this, but it has been a long time indeed :~).
The good news is...while I was out gallivanting around, Michael took my machine to Norm. I had been texting him about what was wrong....and he looked at it while Michael was there....AND FIXED IT!!!! He pulled out a solid piece of fluzz, that I swear was the size of a stink bug, out from under 2 screws and I am good to go!!! My needle threader is still out of alignment, but he said that would take a couple of weeks to fix....so I will drop the machine off once I am done binding everything!
For some reason, when I got home I was absolutely exhausted, and I had picked up a new book at the library on Monday, so I just sat and read my book all afternoon. Michael left at 6:30 to pick up Larry and head out to the movies…and I finally roused myself enough to go downstairs and finish off the last 2 blocks I need for my CONNECTIONS quilt:

I video chatted with Janice on Wednesday morning (4/29) and spent the afternoon continuing to sew the binding on my king sized quilt (continuing to ignore my long arm with the thread break problem). Remember, this quilt is 96’’ by 120’’, so the binding is taking a long time, but by dinnertime, I was done with it on the back side for the quilt…..YAY!!! Michael and I watched TV in the evening, and I put together a cherry/pineapple dump cake:

for dessert at quilting.

Thursday (4/30) was all about quilting…it was charity day and we worked on pillow cases for the Lancaster Childen’s Home. On Wednesday afternoon I managed to pull together some fabric from my stash for some cases, and I got them all done:

as well as helping serge pillowcases for other people. We had just a bit of show and tell:
-check out these quilt patch nails from Janet

-Laura wanted to make it clear that she purchased this jacket...but it was so pretty we all wanted to see it for show and tell

and then a wonderful lunch of meatloaf, provided by Diane who wanted to thank everyone who participated in our charity day, along with my dump cake dessert.
And 10 years ago....
-(kind of a tutorial on how to make a quilt out of leftover blocks) Food and Fiber Floozie: leftovers quilt top finished
