Last chandelier quilt, a visitor, Loree's stash

I was up early on Tuesday (5/30) and got my blog out of the way before loading up another quilt:

This is the last of the chandelier quilts and I will be glad when it is totally finished and I can take all 3 in for show and tell.

My honey was out running errands in the morning: haircut, chiro, library, and Food Lion and when he got home around 1 PM, he joined me downstairs for a bit. He was the one that first noticed our backyard visitor:

It’s been a long time since we’ve seen any deer in the backyard.

I got my program set up on XENA and my bobbins wound and kicked off the quilting. I got half way done with the quilt:

but then stopped…it’s very boring when I have to sit there and watch every stitch and manipulate the top to prevent any pleats…I’m sure the recipients love having fleece on the back of their quilts…but it sure is a pain in the b_tt to quilt with! Too squishy…the backing moves around too much!

Anyway, once I stopped, I decided to figure out exactly how big the center panel needs to be on my One Block Wonder, so I laid out what I needed to:

and now need to create a panel 18-1/2 ‘’ high by 23’’ wide…sure hope my quilt math is right :~).

After that I finally decided to tackle a tiny bit of my project box from the last retreat. I got the 4 sections of one of my quilts put on the design wall, thank goodness I had very detailed labels on all of the pieces:

I think it was worth all of the pain and struggle to figure out this pattern when Susan & Charlie were visiting.... I’ll be sewing that together tomorrow. I also have a fellow quilter coming over for some help…and I need to pull a few things together for her, so that’s what I worked on in the evening (Michael left to pick up Larry at 6 PM to go to the movies).

And in the category of ‘’you never know who you may be influencing’’, you know I have been working on cleaning and straightening the cabinets at SHQ and re-folding all of the fabric…right? Well, Loree decided to attack her own stash, and has gone from 3 shelves of this:

to this:

I LOVE it!! This folding technique is DA BOMB…thanks June!

Ya know…sometimes people write back to me about the ‘’funnies’’ I post at the end, because they always think I am talking about myself. Totally not true, I get the funnies from everywhere and just use them…HOWEVER…the one below is TOTALLY all about me:

*** It’s important for me to get out of the house every once in awhile….to remind myself why I don’t like to go out!!! ***

You have to show yourself once in a while so people know you haven't been murdered!
