Last quilt of 2021 totally finished, puffy things

Current US COVID related deaths: 846,905

********************************

I was up at 4 AM Friday morning (12/31), as I just couldn’t sleep. I tried for a bit on the lanair (the weather is still terrific, it was 60 out there!), then in the living room, then in the media room. I do NOT understand why I have insomnia like this, but at least I’m not alone….Paula talks about the same thing happening to her as she wanders about the house, trying to find someplace to fall back asleep!

Anyway, I finally settled in front of the TV and stitched in my ends and stitched down my label on my last quilt of the year:

So with this completion, I toted up my stats for the year…I quilted 56 quilts on XENA this year…..35 were customer quilts, 16 were quilts I made for dialysis patients, and 5 were QoV’s. I am disappointed that I only completed 5 QoV’s….yes, I had completed ones leftover from 2020, but they are very important to me and I want to do better (read make more!) in 2022. Since I got my first longarm, I’ve completed 62 QoV’s…and I do feel good about that!

I left around lunchtime for some beautification at the beauty parlor (BG – wish you could see me….smooth as a baby’s bottom :~), and when I got home, I continued to cut out a QoV disappearing 9 patch for the project box.

Michael helped to make some Mississippi Mud Brownies for a friend of his:

-adding pecans, after cooking the marshmallows

-drizzling the chocolate

-boxed up and ready to go....

and then we both worked on our dinner.

Of course since it’s New Year’s Eve, we HAD to have champagne (with a serving of fruit to make it healthy :~):

and homemade puffy things:

-cooked chicken, celery, onions, muchrooms and a bit of mayonnaise

Everything was YUMMY and we settled in to snuggle and watch TV for the rest of the night. We did manage to stay up long enough to watch Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper on CNN (a total hoot) and to watch the ball drop.

*** I was drinking at a bar for New Year's Eve, so I took a bus home.

That may not seem like a b ig deal to you...but I've never driven a bus before!! ***

Happy New Year to you and Michael. Loved your "X" quilt and your puffy things. Do you have a recipe for them? Trying to find something that will encourage Al to eat. His appetite has been non existent.
