It was 62 gorgeous degrees outside when we got up on Saturday morning (9/16)!!!! My concession to the cool temperature was to switch from a short sleeved t-shirt to a long sleeved t-shirt for my bike ride.
My honey left for golf just after 8 AM, and Janice and I spent a lot of the morning in the kitchen…making Susie’s Dark Chocolate Raspberry Tart:
and baking some Butterfinger Cookies that I found in the freezer yesterday:
while Freya was passed out in the kitchen:
We finally headed to the studio in the afternoon and she polished off the quilting on her guest bedroom quilt:
I took my flashlight into my fabric closet….and looked for the batik fabric where I SHOULD have put it (in a laundry basket of….these are all fabrics I’ve used in recent quilts…and haven’t yet fully completed the quilts) and guess what?!!? I found it right where it was supposed to be…YAY!! I got 13 strips cut (for the outer border and the binding) before it was time to set my hair, and shower and get dressed. Michael and I:
headed to Dave and & Marge’s house for a cookout with the LLB group:
-Tim & me
-Carol & Ed
-my honey & Dave
-Carol & Lindsey
-Marge & Ann
Dinner was terrific:
and we had a good time sitting around and talking before heading home.
*** Instead of John, I call my bathroom Jim…it sounds better when I say I went to the Jim first thing in the morning. ***
The Chocolate Raspberry Tart looks marvelous! Would you share the recipe? Love Janice's guest room quilt! It looks like everyone was having fun at the picnic and enjoying some great food.
Love the pictures of you, you look great, (miss you), Janice’s guest room quilt is lovely
Freya looks like she has picked her spot. You have shown pics of her there a few times now. A hard floor is always better than a soft bed?? At least it usually is cooler.
Great pics! Great picnic!
