Long weekend with Janice & Dennis, totally finished quilt

What a wonderful 5 days I spent with Janice and Dennis! I left early Thursday (9/29), so I missed Scrap Happy Quilting…but thanks to friend Jerri I still have pictures of all of the show and tell:

I arrived at Janice’s by 11:30 AM, and by 12:30 PM her dining room table looked like this:

and we were sewing.

First up for me was getting a quilt bound and labeled, and I had a TOTALLY FINISHED QUILT (3 of my favorite words!) done by the time we quit for the night:

We sewed all day Friday and I was working on my Arizona Mary quilt:

until 4 PM when we lost power. As the day moved into evening, the 3 of us sat out on the screened in porch with our cocktails, and talked the night away…it was delightful. The power came back on just after mid-night.

Saturday morning (10/1) we were up and out early to visit a local quilt store, co-owned by someone we both knew in Connecticut (Diana). Diana and I sewed together with about 8 other ladies every Tuesday night for 16 years!!!:

We went to lunch after shopping and buying some gorgeous fabric and we sat at lunch for THREE HOURS talking!!!! It was wonderful to get all caught up, and we may see Diana at FOUST in February.

Sunday was another full day of sewing after Janice made us a smurfy quiche for breakfast. By Sunday night, I had the AZ Mary quilt top all together, except for borders:

I was really proud of my honey on Sunday.....I had thawed out a container of Mexican Chicken Soup for some of his dinners...and he wanted cornbread to go with it....so he made it from scratch:

Monday morning I did a bit of sewing on new QoV before packing up and leaving :~(:

I was home just after 4 PM and Michael and I talked the night away and watched a bit of TV and unpacked. It was a GREAT long weekend.
