Michael headed out for golf Saturday morning (12/10), even though he said it would be a slog with cart path only….Janice and I spent a quiet morning talking and eating breakfast before heading downstairs for a bit more cutting (for her) and blog writing (for me).
She left at 1 PM and although I kept telling myself to be productive….I just sat and read for the rest of the day! I am into a really interesting set of 8 books on my KINDLE…someday I’ll bring it downstairs and tell you exactly what I’m reading. They are mysteries...but not cozy mysteries...and I think they are extremely well written for free books! I get free books on my KINDLE all of the time, having signed up for ''Robin reads''....they send me an email each day with a list of books or sets of books, some are 99 cents, and some are free. You can pick and choose which books you want, and it is extremely easy to download them.
My honey came home from golf, very cold and slightly damp and snuggled under his flannel quilt with a warm drink. I went into the bedroom to pick something up and saw a totally unusual site...I have never seen these guys on the tree at the same time:
Eventually, we both got cleaned up and headed into Charlotte for the evening. Michael saw MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET at Flatrock Playhouse on one of his golfing trips and he loved it…so I thought he would enjoy MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET – a Christmas special:
It was FABULOUS! Our seats were primo, the music incredible (lots to put us into the holiday spirit):
and the actors were spot on for Elvis, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins….wasn’t Carl Perkins the guy on Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom??? We had a wonderful time, and got home around 10:30 PM and read until mid-night before heading for bed.
Another blast from the past….

We had a slow start Sunday morning (12/11)…I think I’m still recovering from the tea and the late night Saturday, but I’m sure part of it is also the post visit letdown I always experience when Janice leaves :~(.
Finally, in the early afternoon I hit the studio and got my cat quilt (which is a commissioned quilt) loaded up on XENA:
Have I ever shown you her label?:
Michael was upstairs, working on a Christmas card for AJ....I'm not sure you can see it in the picture, but the inside 3-d effect is that the lids of the boxes pop up when you open the card (if you look closely, you can see the lids casting shadows on the card!):
I headed upstairs to watch TV with my honey, and started to re-claim the lavender fabric that I need for binding on the 2 recently finished quilts.
And BG has finished a block of the month UFO from Colchester Mills, that is just STUNNING:
*** The kids have been throwing Scrabble tiles at each other again….it’s all fun and games until someone loses an “I”. ***
*** My teacher told me not to worry about spelling, because in the future there will be autocorrect…and for that I am eternally grapefruit. ***
BG's quilt is magnificent! Your quilt is also quite beautiful. I love the colors! FYI, it was Marlin Perkins on Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom. I believe Carl Perkins was a country singer.
Love BG's quilt.
Love BGs quilt, gorgeous…… hahah grapefruit
magnificent quilt BG!!!
