Michael left for golf on Saturday (3/19) while I made a quick run to ALDI’s and then got Mexican Chicken Soup in the crockpot. I had a lot of chores to get done in the morning, so I didn’t hit the studio until NOON. I wound bobbins and got the program set up on the baby quilt and kicked off the quilting:
While that was stitching out, I continued to sew strata for a new quilt. I’ve gotta get the rest of my design walls mounted in order to lay this one out. Every time I got up from my chair to go and do something.....someone else snuck in:
I headed upstairs around 4 PM (with 2/3 of Juanita’s quilt done) to make and bake cornbread to go with the soup:
and Maury & Marcia:
showed up at 6 PM. They loved the soup and cornbread, and then we played SCREWED and SEVENS until 10 PM, with a stop for mini-éclairs for dessert. Maury also helped Michael to put up my last 2 design walls….YAY!!! We believe they are the first people we have had over for dinner since the pandemic started! We laughed so much during the evening…and had a great time.
*** I keep telling myself:
‘’Kim, you don’t need to buy any more fabric!!!
But luckily, my name is not Kim :~)’’ ***
