Merry Christmas!!!! Michael helped me put together the components Saturday night, so it only took half an hour to get the ‘’Drake’s Cake on Steroids’’ into the oven for Christmas breakfast. I gave him a choice of that or Killer Pecan Sticky Buns…and the coffee cake won:
-first you put a small amount of the batter in the pan
-then you more than cover it with a brown sugar pecan filling (the pecans were Michael's idea)
-the rest of the batter goes on top
-and then a streusel layer is added that's at least half an inch thick
-YUMM-O!!
He said the smell of it baking was what woke him out of a sound sleep! Our fireplace was on most of the day....inviting furry babies to totally chill out:
We were a bit behind this year due to the issues with Cookie and the issues with the internet….so we spent part of Christmas morning wrapping our gifts and getting them under the tree:
We also spent more time on the phone as our internet/TV was still down, but by 10 AM it was finally back. We found out the electricity outage was due to our electric company doing rolling blackouts to keep the whole system from crashing due to the high demand due to our frigid temps. It took me over an hour to get 3 days worth of blog entries out, but by NOON I was back to finishing up wrapping presents.
We didn’t start opening presents until 1 PM and then we opened one every couple of hours after that, finally finishing up just before our nightly movies started around 7 PM…
-I have loved this every single time I've gone to Corinne's house...and now it's mine! I know just where I'm going to hang it...where I will see it every day

We got started very early on the movies, so we did A CHRISTMAS CAROL, made in the 1930’s, along with DESK SET with Spencer Tracey and Kathryn Hepburn….one of my favorites! We had champagne:
and our favorite puffy things (stuffed scallop shells):
for dinner….it was a FABULOUS day :~).

Love that the fireplace was in the video, too!
