MESIG Show & Tell

''At 2 p.m. this afternoon, the President of the United States sat down, clasped his hands, leaned forward, and with a weak voice, he told the reporter seated right in front of him that “there are no limits” to his power.

This comes after a long night of travel from the G7 summit in France, back to Joint Base Andrews, and then on to the White House, where a visibly worn-down Donald Trump sat for an interview with Marc Caputo for the Axios show. And in a clip shared tonight, he offered a troubling glimpse into how he views the limits of his presidential power at a moment when his party risks losing control of Congress in the midterms.

Caputo asked a simple question. “What have you learned about not just the exercise of power, but the limits on your power as a result of the conflict?”

Trump’s answer came immediately. “There are no limits.” Caputo looked surprised. “No?” Trump responded, “No, none. I haven’t learned that lesson yet. I know there are, but you know, there are no limits.” The President of the United States, sitting in the White House, declared that there are no limits to his authority.''

This should scare EVERY American.

I balanced my checkbook, then got bread dough and laundry started Sunday morning (6/14) before heading to the studio.  My thread is continuing to break every 4 inches on this QoV….I may end up taking it off of my frame and never finishing it :~(.  This is why I took it off of my frame in the first place…luckily, I don’t have any customer quilts right now…but Janice is coming Thursday afternoon for several days to get some quilts done….so it’s coming off Thursday, one way or another!  I got the bread baked, and used 2 of my mini-loaf pans to make the cutest little loaves:

I continued to struggle, and to keep sewing together my QoV from the design wall, but finally at 6 PM, I took a shower and changed and we picked up Ed and Carol and headed to Diane and Mark’s house.

What a fun evening….we started the evening with Telestrations, stopped for yummy chocolate cake, then played Blank Slate.  There were lots of laughs and I think Diane and Michael were the big winners!  We were home after 10 and read for just a bit before bed.

Michael left early on Monday (6/15) to pick up Ed and Carol and Mark and head to Edgewater to play 9 holes of golf, and then go out to breakfast.

I spent the morning trying to get ONE row done on the QoV….and I only got half way across by the time Michael ran me up to the Lake House for Machine Embroidery SIG.  So, you know what that means….lots of beautiful show and tell:

-this is a cucumber slice that Lisa digitized and stitched out...it was cute as anything!

I was back at my long arm Tuesday morning (6/16) and after several more false starts (i.e. breakages every 4 inches), I decided to give up!  I started to rip out the stitching on this quilt….which will be a LO_O_O_ONG and painful process, and continued with that until we left at NOON.

We had an appointment to start the process of finalizing our funerals and getting them paid for.  It was MUCH less painful than I thought it was going to be….and we have a bit of stuff to think about and discuss, but we will probably make another appointment in a week or so and get it all done!

Michael and I split a crab sandwich for dinner, then he got picked up for the movies and I headed to Belair Church to help set up for our retreat tomorrow.  It only took about an hour and I was glad all of the work didn’t fall on just 2 people.  When I got home, I just relaxed and watched a movie on NETFLIX while Michael was at the movies.

And 10 years ago....

*** Walking can add minutes to your life. This enables you at 85 years old to spend an additional 5 months in a nursing home at $7000 per month. ***

*** I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me. ***

*** The only reason I would take up walking is so that I could hear heavy breathing again. ***

Love Pat’s shirt. Is that a pattern or did she customize that herself?
