MESIG Show & Tell
I am so very disheartened about the ads from Republicans about the mid-terms that I just can't stomach looking at another article.
And the man that supports and definitely encourages all of the violence and ugliness...

PSA - I will be on a quilt retreat next week.....so no more blogs until at least next weekend...
********************************
I headed to ALDI on Friday morning (10/16)….now, Michael does 99% of the grocery shopping…and has since the pandemic….so it took me FOREVER to find everything as it was a long list (not to mention that when I went to pay for it….NO WALLET!!!! We had dinner Thursday night from one of the food trucks at the Lake House, and my wallet was still in the golf cart!!!), so it definitely took me a long time to finish, but eventually I was back home and quilting.
I finished up Marvella’s quilt and got it all cleaned up and off of the frame by dinner. We didn’t play cribbage on Thursday night because we were both too tired, and we were still tired on Friday, so we pushed it hopefully to Saturday, and we decided to try the new TV show CUPPERTINO….we both really liked it, so it will go in our regular rotation :~).

Saturday (10/17) dawned cold/rainy/raw…a perfect day to stay in and quilt, which was good as I have 2 customer quilt I hope to polish off this weekend. I got the first one loaded:

and spent the rest of the day quilting it…

finishing up by dinnertime. Part of the time it was stitching out, I was cleaning in my studio…and found an entire XEROX box of backing fabric that needs to be re-claimed…UGH!!! That will be an on-going and long project.
We played cribbage in the evening and even though Michael spent lots of time complaining about what GREAT hands I was getting and what POOR hands he was getting….guess what? He won again!

I hopped up Sunday morning (10/18) and got lemon/blueberry scones in the oven for our breakfast:

Then it was back to the studio to load up the second customer quilt:

and get the quilting started:

While that was stitching out, I continued cleaning, but in the afternoon I decided to look for some fabric. I wanted to start cutting on the second focus fabric of peppers I bought when I was with Arizona Mary, and I finally found the perfect burnt orange to go with it:

but I could NOT find a green that I liked :~(. I know, I know….shocking that I don’t have a good green in all of my stash…but because teal is my favorite color….all of my greens tend towards blue/green….and that definitely doesn’t work with this focus fabric. I need a true, middle-of-the-road green….not too much yellow, and not too much blue…..so off to Hobby Lobby I must go tomorrow.
I took a shower and Michael and I headed out in the late afternoon for another class at the FOODIE SCHOOL. I picked this class because Michael LOVES big/soft pretzels:

-hot dog wrapped with pretzel dough....with mustard sauce

-sesame pretzel with beer/cheese sauce

And I totally forgot to take a picture of our cinnamon/sugar dusted dessert pretzels, served with a chocolate ganache sauce and a caramel dipping sauce!!!
We had a wonderful time, but were both exhausted when we got home and just watched 2 episodes of THE MARLOW MURDER CLUB before bed.

I spent Monday morning (10/19) finishing up my customer quilt…and Monday afternoon at Machine Embroidery…taking pictures of AWESOME show & tell:

-I sent this picture to Pat (who is currently in Greece), because I knew she would love it!

-I loved this....but really thought the ''need more wine'' was too small and difficult to read...when it is the star of the saying!

-this house was ridiculously cute and awesome!

I headed over to Hobby Lobby afterwards….remember I had this:

Well, I think I found the perfect green to go with it:

Iris came by on Tuesday morning (10/20) with much of the sashing completed for her Halloween quilt:

She thinks it will look awesome and I do too! Of course a kitty had to explore her bag:

So….I had show and tell last Thursday, but forgot to include a picture…..here’s the show and tell (altho why I picked stripes.....so that I had a BA-ZILLION ends to sew in....I'll never know!):

and here’s the recipient (Iris’s oldest!):

I spent the afternoon doing something I probably haven’t done in 10 years….Karen picked me up and we headed to the Lake House for Stitch ‘n’ Chat! There were definitely people I haven’t seen in forever….and the vibe was very different than it has been in the past….we had a great time.
After that, I headed over to Karen’s house as we are doing a joint ETSY adventure of trying to sell some of my yarn. Karen already has an ETSY shop and I did a write-up on the first set of yarn. She will work on a posting for my review before it goes live….cross your fingers that there are people out there interested in my yarn stash!!!!!
I was home by 5 PM and Michael and I had crab soup for dinner before settling in with popcorn and more original DOC MARTIN.
And 10 years ago....
*** They say the machines of the future will be as smart as people....ok, but which people? It kinda makes a big difference! ***
*** Love this time of year when you can dig graves in your front yard....and people think it's just a cute display. ***
*** Don't forget to buy your Halloween candy early so that you have time to buy more after you eat it all. ***

Love the hollween house and i hope iris keeps one ghost upside down!
Can’t wait to see the end result of the chili peppers
