I spent all day Sunday (8/16) quilting on Pam’s quilt, and by the time I headed upstairs for dinner, I had finished it (Baptist Fan, her favorite stitch pattern!):
and loaded up her second one.

Monday (8/17) was more customer quilting (are you getting sick of reading that yet?) on Pam’s second quilt. It had a baseball theme…and I have the perfect longarm design for it (can you see the bat/hat/glove?):
but the afternoon brought our Machine Embroidery meeting and that means lots and lots of beautiful embroidered show and tell (Deb was kind enough to hold up most of the items so that I could get good pictures):

We were scheduled to visit Edee in Belmont, NC on Tuesday (8/18), the first time seeing her new home and I wanted to take a little something for a house warming gift. You know I don’t like to add to anyone else’s clutter, so I was struggling with the whole 'what to bring', but then the PERFECT gift popped into my head….Susie’s toffee! So, I hopped up Tuesday morning (8/18) and put a pan of that together (using that extra long handled spoon…thx so much for gifting it to me Susie!):
and we left before 11 AM to get there in time for lunch.
She made us a FABULOUS gnocchi and shrimp lunch, with blueberry pie for dessert and we talked and talked and talked!!
Michael and I were still stuffed when we got home around 4 PM.
I had gotten Diane’s quilt loaded:
before we left for Edee’s, and I got 2 passes done before heading upstairs.
I have also been working on my horizontal sashing for Connections and got the first 2 rows put together:
My black pieces form squares instead of the rectangles the pattern does (because I altered the pattern to eliminate some of the white background), but I still think it looks pretty neat!
Michael got picked up at 6:30 PM for the movies, and I continued to rip apart his alpaca sweater in the evening.

I worked on Diane’s quilt Wednesday morning (8/19) before and after my video chat with Janice, and got it all finished before leaving at 1 PM for my massage.
Once home again, I got the checkbook balanced before dropping back to working on creating horizontal sashing and sewing it together for the Connections quilt. I managed to get the bobbin ends all sewn in on Diane’s quilt and got it off of the frame, which was good as I will be able to trim it at quilting on Thursday.

Michael packed the car and I headed off to quilting on Thursday (8/20). I got absolutely NOTHING done except talking to people and having a wonderful time…I really have to pull together a project for next week!
We had lovely show and tell:
Diane got all caught up on the block of the month project
and when I got home, I just read for a bit before an early dinner.
We’ve been talking about books at quilting…have you all read THEO OF GOLDEN???? I have yet to run into anyone that hasn’t absolutely LOVED that book…I am so grateful that my friend Connie loaned it to me to read since when I tried to put it on hold at the library…I was number 843 in line to receive it!
And 10 years ago.....

OMG! Between all of the embroidery and quilt Show and Tell, I am having sensory overload! Everything is just so beautiful and fabulous! So much talent!
