A bunch of people couldn't open the FB link I had in the last blog....so I will just tell you....we had a COW sauntering down our street here in Sun City!!! It was wandering about for many hours (having escaped from a nearby farm)....but was eventually lassoed and returned home :~)
I fired up XENA on Sunday morning (10/11) and was chugging along….until I ran out of thread :~(. I really hope my new dealer is open on Monday so that I can put in an order….we will see. I REALLY didn’t want to start a new quilt….but I bought 2 kits from Laura at the retreat (each kit made a square, 40’’ quilt……I hate square quilts, so I figured I could combine them and get one wider and more rectangular quilt….and if I have any blocks left over, they’ll be the center of another quilt) and it was all pre-cut, so I started to sew together the HST’s:

Well – it’s been an interesting Monday and Tuesday (10/12 & 13)…I was at the craft group at the library when I got a call from my honey. He stepped into a sewer grate on the way back to his golf cart and took a bad fall. One of the other ladies there said that we should spend the day, elevating and icing the problem areas (which turned out to be advice NOT agreed to by the doctor when I eventually asked….although Michael's ankle does not look bad at all, it certainly kept the bruising and swelling in check)….anyway, that was the rest of the day Monday:

I set the alarm on my phone and every 30 minutes I tromped upstairs to either take ice away, or put it back on his ankle, elbow and finger. While I was downstairs, I continued to work on HST’s:

Michael slept in the recliner overnight (couldn’t get comfortable in bed) and we headed to the ER just before 8 AM:

They eventually determined that he had broken off a small piece of his ankle/foot and put him in a weird looking temporary cast until we could get in to the ortho doc. I had to leave him at the ER, as I had a doctor’s appointment in Pineville at 11:30 AM. Iris & Mario came and took him to breakfast and then got him settled at home, with crutches and also managed to take Freya out for a bit of pee-ing and poop-ing….although not without some difficulty as Freya just kept barking and barking at first and wouldn’t come near them to get hooked up to her leash….Michael said it was basically a zoo as the kitties were trying to get into the thick of everything as well.
I eventually got home around 1 PM, with a chocolate chip milkshake in tow (from COOKOUT) as my honey needed a bit of pampering :~). I spent the afternoon trying to get in touch with 2 different INNOVA dealers to order some supplies….but I guess no one wants to sell anything and I eventually ordered everything off of the main INNOVA website….but it is frustrating to know that I can’t establish any kind of relationship with a new dealer, now that mine has closed :~(.

We had an appointment with Ortho Carolina on Wednesday morning (10/14) and this was the result:

Michael is allowed to walk around as long as it is not too painful, but needs to wear the boot, probably for 4 – 6 weeks.
I had breakfast when we got home, then headed to the studio to video chat with Janice. After that I checked on my honey during the afternoon…he gets tired very easily, which totally makes sense as his left leg now weighs 12 – 15 pounds more than it used to (due to the boot) and his right leg weighs 2 pounds more….due to the rubber ‘’lift’’ that attaches to his right shoe so that he isn’t always walking lopsided. He was absolutely exhausted in the late afternoon and took a nap, while I did intake on 2 customer quilts.

Thursday (10/15) was quilting…I just took knitting as I knew I wasn’t going to stay that long. We had some show and tell:
-look at this beautiful treatment for a panel....

-and another arrow quilt....of course I ADORE this one.....gorgeous colors and the sashing inset just looks so sharp!!! I am so pleased with how ALL of my students quilts turned out!

-and a bit of ''extra credit'' on the back :~)

I left around 1 PM to drop off sourdough starter to Pam R (courtesy of June) and meet up with my honey. For at least a month he has been telling me that he was going to take me someplace special….and it wouldn’t take long….and I didn’t have to dress up….and I would really like it. We were supposed to go Wednesday afternoon, but with the fall/leg/cast happening, that kind of got pushed away…..so Thursday afternoon it was. He took me to the theatre just down the road for CATVIDEOFEST.com 2026…and it was just what the doctor ordered….over an hour of hysterical cat videos, set to music….we laughed the afternoon away….IT WAS WONDERFUL!!!

I love looking at t he weekly Show & Tell. Even though I’m there at the meeting. It’s so nice to take a good, slow look at the quilts in my own time. Well, I guess what I’m trying to say is that I enjoy my own personal quilt show with my feet up & a cup of coffee. Haha!
That latest arrow quilt is beautiful!!!!
Finally i zm thd star of the blog... for all thd wrong reasons!!
