NASA takes out an asteroid!

MAN…I was really feeling the fact of all of the work I did on Saturday when I got up Sunday morning (9/26). Eventually I was moving, very achy, very slowly. I got my blog out (that took well over an hour as it was 2 days long, with lots of pictures) and then headed back to the kitchen to sort through the mountain of paperwork that has accumulated over the last several weeks! That took me until NOON, but finally I was back in the studio.

First up was stitching out an embroidery for that beautiful purple quilt I just finished….I have to admit, it wasn’t a pleasant stitch out as my thread was continually breaking, but eventually it was done:

After that I decided I needed to do more cutting. I remembered that I have promised a quilt for Christmas, that I haven’t even started…..so I got that cut:

I will be leaving Thursday morning for Janice’s, and I think I might finally have enough to work on while there…but I’d still like to get one more quilt cut. So…first warning…no blog posts starting Thursday until sometime next week!

By then it was 6:30 and I was STARVING. I headed upstairs and Michael and I opened champagne to celebrate the end of the play:

Of course, filled with our frozen strawberry ‘’ice cubes’’. OMword!!! These have to be strawberries I froze from Ivy Place over the summer…they tasted FABULOUS!!!

While we were eating and drinking, we were watching this:

The very first ever attempt for a rocket to smash into an asteroid to change its trajectory. It was incredible….the first time anyone had attempted this….the DART team at NASA has been working on this since 2016. They will be checking over the coming days (weeks?) to see if, and how much, the trajectory has changed. The first step in being able to defend our planet against asteroids.

After that we relaxed and watched TV for the rest of the evening.

And my honey saw the most adorable, teeny tiniest gecko when he took the dog out….those mum blossoms are at most, 1-1/4 inches across:

*** It’s been 6 months since I joined the gym and no progress what-so-ever. I’m going down there in person tomorrow, to find out what really going on... ***
