Michael left at 9 AM for golf on Saturday (2/11) while I made a quick trip to ALDI’s before Pat arrived. She was loaded and basted and quilting in no time:
and in just over 2-1/2 hours….she was done:
I spent a lot of the afternoon reading my new library book: LESSONS IN CHEMISTRY by Betty Garmus. (Since I started it, I have found it almost impossible to put down!) When I put this book on hold, I didn’t realize it was the ‘’IT’’ book of the year…..zoomed to the top of the best seller list. Being a good way into it, I can understand why…the protagonist is someone who never, ever, EVER compromises her principals, or gives up on who she is. It is a GREAT read and I highly recommend it!
I could really take a page out of Pat’s book, as later in the day I got this picture, with the caption ‘’all done, bound and labeled’’…that woman doesn’t waste any time:
My honey and I celebrated his birthday with champagne (with our traditional frozen strawberries for ‘’ice’’):
and puffy things (this time shrimp dumplings):
while watching the first of the STAR WARS movies....and by first I definitely mean Episode IV!!
*** What I wanted to do this year:
-drink water
-eat healthy
What I’ve actually done this year:
-drink margaritas
-eat tacos ***
Love celebrating anything with you , my honey!
Love, love, love Pat’s quilt! What a talent she is with all of the beautiful things she makes!!! Have you read “Mad Honey” by Jodi Picoult and Jennifer Boylan? Also an excellent read and thought provoking.
I, too, loved Lessons in Chemistry. Great lead character and storyline. Fabulous writing!
