What a loser......dimentia Don....8647!!
***********************************
Friday morning (11/21) I had a bit of a kerfuffle! I was in the middle (well really, near the end) of baking a layer cake when I saw Sally on the porch and my brain went ‘’OMG!!!!! We’re having breakfast today!!!!!’’ Luckily my cakes only had a few more minutes to go, and out the door we went to METRO DINER.
My breakfast was yummy:

and I brought home half of it. That breakfast appointment will have to last me for a bit as Sally will be leaving for a 3 week trip to ITALY!!!!! Daughter Sarah planned the whole thing and it sounds like it is going to be FABULOUS!!!!
When I got home, I finished putting the cake together:

(Michael thinks it looks like a triple stuffed oreo!) I’ll ganache the top around dinnertime, before our guests arrive at 7 PM.
I spent the afternoon getting a black border on my FPF Rainbow quilt:

So that chore can now be removed from my spinny because the top is all done….or changed into bind the quilt, as I plan to load it up to be quilted right away.
I got the cake all finished:

and Deb & Larry showed up at 7 PM to play cards. We had a fabulous time….we really didn’t play much, as we were too busy talking :~). They stayed until just before 11 PM, and Michael and I stayed up way too late watching a couple of SEINFELD’s before bed.

I headed to the studio Saturday morning (11/22) to get the FPF Rainbow loaded up, and I managed to get one pass of quilting done:

before Iris picked me up for our cake decorating class at LOWE’s! We had a wonderful time:

-they had snacks for us.....

-this is what it was supposed to look like....

-but I know Michael likes LOTS of frosting....and I wanted to practice with the tips, so this is what mine looked like

Iris and I bought a few more things in the store before getting home around 2 PM. I continued quilting until dinner and feel like I can finish it on Sunday.

Michael was up early on Sunday (11/23) to head out golfing. It just doesn’t feel like a Sunday today….I think I am all messed up from everything that happened last week and I don’t know what day it is! And this morning, I was REALLY missing when we would get up on Sunday morning to a big newspaper, to sit around and read over breakfast :~(. I am so glad that my dad isn’t around to see what has happened to papers, since they kept me fed and clothed and a roof over my head my entire life until I moved out after college graduation.
Anyway, I headed downstairs to fire up XENA and get cracking. I had a big hiccup, but finally by NOON the quilting was done:

and I had started to layout my scrap blocks to see how they would look. I was worried that this was going to look really ugly, but I think someone will like it:

After that, I headed to the kitchen to start candy production. I wouldn’t mind doing this later in December, but I ship out 3 boxes of goodies each year, and I like to get them out the first week in December so that the recipients can share or give away if they want when they attend their own holiday parties.
Anyway, my afternoon was spent making White Trash:

and by the time I made 9 runs of it, it was almost dinnertime and I was pooped! We had meatloaf for dinner and played CRIBBAGE while watching the Great British Baking Show: Holidays!

I headed out to the library Monday morning (11/24) for the craft group, and when I got home, I started to make my sugared pecans:

That took up the rest of my afternoon, but they are all done now. Our ice maker broke last week and the repairman came today (yes, it took a long time because I told them it absolutely was NOT an emergency and they should put everyone ahead of me that had a refrigerator not working!!!) Anyway….new ice maker costs beau coup bucks and has to be ordered :~(. Oh well….guess I’ll continue to make cubes in my ice cube tray for a bit longer :~).
I also got my holiday gravy made:

And here's Sally, loving on her quilt:

And 10 years ago....
*** WALMART thinks I want to eat turkey and put up my Christmas Tree while wearing my Halloween costume. ***
*** Not sure I can ''jingle all the way''. I can jingle some of the way....but then I'm gonna need a nap. ***
*** As I get older, I don't really sleep anymore....it's more of a doze between pee breaks. ***
