QoV on-point top finished, Edee, dialysis quilts delivered

I spent Friday morning (3/24) getting out a 2 day blog before starting to sew the outer border on the QoV:

I think I like this pattern and will make it again....with some small changes. I cut my red/white/blue strips at 3-3/4 inches....which is a stupid measurement in that I am just asking to make a mistake!!! That is not a normal/standard cutting measurement. I will make this quilt again and cut at 3-1/2''...a much commoner measurement, and then I'll see what else I have to adjust. I got it finished up just as Edee turned up at 11:30:

Edee is a friend of ours who has been in Germany for the last 4 years; we headed out to lunch at Chili’s, then back to the lanair, talking the entire time!!! I wanted to know all about the differences she encountered between here and Germany, and she wanted to know all about what we’ve been up to for the last 4 years….we talked until 3 PM, when she wanted to get on the road to Huntersville before rush hour started.

I quickly called the Dialysis unit in Lancaster and found out that they had given out the last 2 quilts this week (yikes!!!), so I called Sally (since we never get any one-on-one time) and we headed on down to deliver these 6 quilts:

Teresa (dialysis manager) told me again how much they appreciate these quilts and how much the patients love seeing and getting them!

I have to digress here for a minute...as soon as Sally got in the car, she told me how nice my hair looked….and I continue to get several comments each week at Scrap Happy about how nice it is (even though I've now had it for 3 or so months)….so I guess this haircut is a WINNER, WINNER!!! And because I know someone will ask…I tried to take a selfie to show you:

-I think I've got a little SPOCK eyebrow thing going on...

When we got back to Sally’s house, we went inside to continue talking and I don’t think I got home until 6 PM. I got in a little sewing (I didn’t have dinner…still too ful from lunch) and I got all of the block-on-block rows sewn together, but not yet pressed.

Here are the 2 recent labels I finished....for my AZ Mary quilts in cool colors and warm colors...they still have to be bound:
